[D] [E] Alright, this is going to be Weezer, Island in the Sun.
You are going to absolutely love playing this bass line.
It's just a really bubbly bass line that floats all about [N] and you're really going to like
it a lot.
It's going to be really easy for you to play and you're going to get it, yo!
Weezer, Island in the Sun.
I am Finbar of Finbar Bass.
Alright, so if you haven't clicked on the link right down there in the YouTube text
box, one of those links is going to bring you to some lessons that aren't on YouTube at all.
You can only get it by clicking that link right down there.
There's a beginner lesson, an intermediate lesson, an advanced lesson, so somebody for everybody.
So if you haven't clicked on that, click on that.
Also down there, there is a link that will send you over to my Epic Beginner Bass DVD
set that I'm really excited about.
That's all complete.
It's up there.
It's good.
So if you, you know, you're very much a beginner on the bass, you're going to love it.
If you've been playing for a while, there's some great stuff in there for you too.
So definitely check those out.
Alright, so you're going to start on the second fret [E] of the D string.
Hit that twice, right here.
[A] And this wide jump [E] over to the open E.
Right, open E string and then you're going to hit
the fifth fret of the E string twice and then open E again.
Just like that.
[A]
[E] Now you don't have to do that.
You can just go from the second fret to the fifth fret.
Just like that.
But I like that bounce.
[A] [E]
Just [D] like that.
But anyway, then you're going to, you have that choice.
Of course, because choice is always good.
Then you're going to hit the fifth fret of the A string twice and then [E] hit it open.
[A] [D] [G]
[D] And then what that is, is the third fret of the E string twice [E] and second fret and then
fifth fret of the A string.
So all together.
[D] [G] [D]
Just like that.
And then you're going to play around with that again, but instead of going, [G] you're going
to go like I just showed you.
You're going to go, [E]
right, so it's kind of a call and answer.
This [G] is the first part.
This is the answer.
Just like that.
So you're going to hit the third fret of the E string three times [E] and then hit it open.
So if I played that part slow, [A] [D]
[G] [D] just like that.
And then where it changes, where you hear it will run away together.
[G] [B]
I like that start on the tenth fret.
You can do this in other places on the [D] neck, but I like that slide.
So you start on the tenth fret of the E string.
[G] And you're going to hit it four times and then slide to the third fret of the E string.
Hit that three times.
[B]
[G] And you can just let that [B] go right there.
Or you can do a little.
And what that is, I'm hitting the second fret of the A string twice [E] and then [D] open E again.
[G]
[E] [A] Just like that.
You do that twice.
Then you're going to hit the third fret of the A string [C] three times.
[A] [F#] And then you're going to hit the fifth fret of the D, a little flourish here, and then
go back to the third fret of [C] the A.
[E] And then hit the open E string.
I hit the [C] A there for a second, but hit the E.
[E] And then you're going to go to the fifth
[A] fret of the A.
[E] Just the [C] same thing.
So you've got, [A]
[Am] right, same pattern.
Fifth fret three times, [D#] seventh fret, and then fifth fret, and then [C] open.
[A] [E] [D]
And then you're just going to pretty much ride on this fifth fret of the A string.
And you can hit that octave there to bring it to a [N] little crescendo.
All right, you got it, yo!
Weezer Island in the Sun.
I told you you were going to like playing that.
It's a really fun bass line, right?
It sounds cool, man.
Oh, that studio version is unbelievable.
Anyway, thank you so much for listening and watching.
