Beginner Spanish Guitar Song Lesson- Rumba Chords chords
Start Jamming...
Hello, so yesterday I posted a [A] video on this lesson.
I'll [Ab] quickly play it for you.
It's
just kind of a recap because the lesson you can go and [F] find on the channel or I'll link
to it in the comments [Em] or wherever.
[Gb] [D] [E] [C] [D]
[B] [D] [D] So that's what I showed you in the [E] lesson.
A little melody, a little cool piece of guitar
playing.
There's a second part to that that I'd [Db] like to share with you.
We play those
same chords, so we've got the [Em] E minor chord.
[G] You can also do E minor 7, [D] D7, [B] [C] C7,
[B] B7 in the
[Abm] previous lesson.
[Ab] Those chords are explained [Em] better note for note, finger for finger, [Ab] if
that's what you need.
If you [Em] know, E [D] minor, D7, C7, [B] B7.
That's cool.
You're welcome to
play those chords in other positions as well.
I just happen to play them here for the purposes
of this.
And a melody, [Ab] a rhythm.
I'll play for you and then [Em] I'll explain.
[D]
[C] [B]
[D] [G] So it's what we call a rumba rhythm on the E minor chord.
Basically I'm going 1, 2, [Abm] 3,
4, 2, 3, 4.
So down, up, down, up, up, down, up.
Imagine two groups of four.
Down, up,
down, [N] up.
And then again, down, up, down, up.
So they're identical.
Down, up, down,
up.
Down, up, down, up.
Very simple.
We make it ever so slightly more complex.
The first
one stays the same.
Down, up, down, up.
And the second one, all we're doing is replacing
the first downstroke with a hit.
So instead of going down, up, down, up, it [G] goes hit,
up, down, up.
Down, up, down, up.
Hit, up, down, up.
Down, up, [Abm] down, up.
Hit, up, down,
up.
[Gb] And I recommend you practice that slowly.
Down, [Ab] up, down, up.
Hit, up, down, up.
[Em] With
the chord.
[D] [E] Two ways of doing the upstroke.
[D] After the hit, you can either kind of just
pull the hand up, the whole hand.
That finger kind of there is what ends up striking the
string in that situation.
Or you can, [Em] because you have time, [D] especially if you're playing
a bit slower, some can do the other.
If I do it fast,
[B] I think I find myself using that
[Em] first finger.
[D] [Am] Yeah, so I'm [D] breaking up.
That's what I'm doing.
That's my upstroke.
[C]
For those
first ones, I'm going down, down with the fingers, up with the thumb.
Down, up, down,
up.
Down, up, down, up.
Hit, up with the rake.
Down, up.
[B]
[Eb] It's hard teaching on YouTube.
[Ab] It's
always challenging to teach, but it's [G] particularly hard because I'm not sure if I'm going too
fast or too slow.
I hope you're with me.
I don't want to be boring and too slow, and
I don't want to speed past people either, so I'm trying to have an appropriate pace.
[Em] So definitely work on that just in itself.
This one's going down, and that one's going
up.
And that can get faster.
That can be a separate thing anyway.
That's fun to do.
And
probably divide it into two.
So there's one that's going down, up, down, up.
Practice
that.
And then hit, up, down, up.
And you can start rhythms on a hit.
[N] That can actually
be fun to do.
[Em]
[B] So I'll do a [Em] quick recap.
[G]
[D] [E] [C] [D]
[B] [D] [Em]
[E] [D]
[Em] [D]
[C] [B]
[Em] [D]
[C] [B]
[Em]
Thank you so much for watching.
I'm really, really
grateful.
[E] The channel has had some significant growth recently.
There's more subscribers
than ever.
There's more people than ever.
I'm blown away by your [F] support.
I really appreciate
it.
I get a lot of really kind comments and responses.
I really appreciate that.
[Dm] I try
to respond to as many of them as I can.
There's kind of [Gb] starting to be more than I can reply
to, so I apologize [Em] for that.
But I am there.
I am listening.
[B] I am watching.
[E] If you have
a question, ask it.
I promise you I'll do my best to answer it.
I'll make a video about
[B] it.
I'm a real person.
I'm right here.
I love YouTube.
I love watching YouTube, and I love
uploading.
Thank you for watching.
See you next time.
[N] That's Tekin the cat.
Hey Tekin.
She doesn't love YouTube.
She doesn't love anything except food.
