Hey, what's up you guys?
Marty Schwarz here again with Marty Music.
This is my brand new project.
It's Marty Music, the YouTube channel right here,
Marty Music, the website, and like I said before,
Marty Music, the flamethrower.
The kids love it.
Anyway, we're working on super beginner strumming patterns
that are really common.
You see them in all kinds of easy acoustic songs.
So this is pattern number three,
and I also wanna make sure you know
that at the end of this video,
there's gonna be a link for my easy song playlist.
It's just all easy acoustic lessons,
just free YouTube videos.
At the end of this video, you can click to it.
And also I released right at the same time as this video,
four other really common rhythm patterns.
So check for those on Marty Music as well.
Shouldn't be too hard to find.
All right, let's get to the new one.
We're gonna start by just focusing
on our right hand strumming,
and it sounds like this.
[Gm] [G] [D]
Down, down, down, up, down, [F] down, down, up, down.
Do it with me.
[D]
[B] Down, down, up, [F] down, down, up, down, [G] down, up, down. Keep going.
[Gm] [C]
Don't forget to breathe.
[Eb]
[G] Down, down, up, down, down, down, up, down,
down, down, up, down, down, down, up, down,
[D] down, down, up, down, [F] down, down, up, down,
down, down, up, down, down, down, up, down, down, up, down.
[C]
[Eb]
[Eb] Feel the burn yet?
Sweating to the oldies.
Okay, so now what we wanna do is I was thinking
of a real beginner kind of strumming version
of like knocking on heaven's door.
So what I wanna do now is play three chords
with this rhythm pattern.
However, keep in mind that if you get lost
or you can't keep up with [G] me,
or you can't change the chords in time,
keep this right hand, if you're right-handed,
keep the strumming hand steady with me.
If you get lost, just we're focused on rhythm right now.
Okay, so here's what we're gonna do.
We're gonna do one rhythm pattern on G.
Then we're gonna go over to the D major chord
and do one rhythm [D] pattern.
Down, down, down, up.
[C] And then we're gonna go to the C chord
[G] and do that for two patterns.
So as you see, we have three chords,
an odd number of chords and a progression.
So we're gonna double up on the C chord.
So it'd be G.
Down, down, down, up.
Then D.
[D]
And then C for two of those [C] patterns.
And it's always [B] down.
It's always down, down, down, up, down.
Down, down, up, down.
Down, down, up, down.
So let's [E] get going.
G, D, and C.
Play along with me.
If you get lost, keep the rhythm going.
Here we [G] go.
