Start Jamming...
Hello everyone, today we're checking out a nifty little device which is the Roland Go Mixer.
Now what the Go Mixer is, it is essentially an audio mixer for your [N] smartphone or tablet.
So if you're possibly one who likes recording yourself jamming to a track or jamming with
your friends or you know just recording down ideas via the video camera on your phone or
tablet, we all know how the audio quality on those can be rather subpar, so this is
where this device comes in.
All the connection cables are already provided in the box so you can connect it to your iPhone,
iPad or any Android device.
Following that you can just download the Roland Go Camera app.
From there onwards you can actually connect multiple instruments into this one device
and get some great audio quality through the recording of your [C] phone or tablet.
This thing is really easy to use, so basically you have your USB out to connect [Db] it to your
phone or tablet.
[G] From there you have a monitor out so you can plug in your headphones or any sort of speakers
that work with the 3.5mm jack.
Then there is a dedicated input for either your guitar or bass.
You can connect a microphone as well here but what you need is actually a 1.25mm jack going in.
You also have stereo [C] inputs so you have a left [Ab] and right for say a keyboard, but again
if you're not using any stereo [Eb] inputs you can actually just use the left side which
will convert it to a motor signal.
Finally there is actually a line in so if you have a mp3 player of sorts, you can actually
plug [N] in a backing track and jam along with it.
This is great for those who like doing Facebook Live and things of that sort.
We all know there are some of those who maybe they have a singer and then they have a guitarist
or they have an electric guitar and they have a backing track and they're jamming along
and things like that.
It can be a bit of a challenge to get balanced audio signals from different sources.
So this is a great solution to mix the audio levels properly and get high audio quality
so that all your fans, audience, friends, family can listen to you at proper high quality audio levels.
So let's take a quick listen of how this thing sounds.
The way I connected it today is I of course had it connected to my smartphone which is an Android.
From there I have my electric guitar going into an effects unit which in this case today
will be the Tech 21 Brit Fly Rig.
So that will act as sort of my preamp and effects and all that and I'm going into the guitar input.
And I also hooked up a backing track into the line in of the device and I mixed the
levels from that.
So what you'll be hearing in the video is actually the audio direct from the Roland Go mixer.
So there's no post processing, nothing of that sort.
It was all balanced via this unit.
It was recorded into the file [Ab] and immediately that's what you are [E] watching right now.

It's a really really easy unit to use.
You don't need to read any manuals of that sort.
It's pretty much plug and play.
It's light, it's handy, it's small, you can take it anywhere.
And it certainly makes things a breeze when you just want to do a very quick video with
your smartphone or your tablet and upload it immediately into your multiple social media platforms.
Facebook, Instagram, whatever.
So I hope this video helps with what the Roland Go mixer can do.
