[Dm] [G] Hey guys, [D] Robert here [C] from Master Guitar [G] Academy.
[D] Today I'm going [F] to teach you [G] 4 [D] rock licks.
The [C] guitar tone I'm [D] using is from a [F] new [G] Toontrack product [D] called [C] Big [G] Rock [F] Guitars.
[D] Lots of cool [F] sounds in that [G] one.
[D] And the [G] drum sounds [D] that you'll hear on the back end track [F] is from [G] another Toontrack [D] product coming soon.
[G] [F] [C] Now [D] if you would like a tab [F] for these [G] licks, [D] consider joining [G] MasterGuitarAcademy [D].com where
[F] you will have [G] access to [D] an [C] interactive [G] tab called Sound [Dm] Slice, which makes [Eb] it really
easy [F] to learn from.
[G] I [D] also have [C] hundreds of lessons in different [D] styles and difficulty [F] levels for [G] you, so [D] do
check [C] that out.
[G] Now let's learn these 4 licks.
[D]
[Dm] [G] [D]

[G] [D] [F]
[G] [D]
[F] [G]
[F] [D]
[F] [G] [D]
[N]
So, we're going to start by playing the B string and the E string together.
And we do immediately a whole step bend on the B string.
[Gm]
So we bend until we get to the root note D.
So those two notes are the same.
But because they end up slightly out of pitch, out of tune with each other as you do the
bend, it sounds cool.
And I also apply a bit of vibrato there.
And then we play this, [Am] [Ab] [Dm]
[Fm] which is [Ab] just the minor blues scale.
[Am]
[Ab] [Dm]
[Abm] And I bend a little bit on [Bb] that note at the end, just for added bluesiness.
[Gm]
[D]
And the picking technique that I [Gm] use is,
[Am] [Ab]
[Dm]
for me that's most economical.
[F] [Ab] [Dm]
So you see when I go from this note, I do [N] two down strokes.
[Abm] [A] And [Gm] then up stroke and down stroke [Fm] here.
[Dm]
[Am] [Abm] [Dm]
And then for the next lick, [G]
[C] [G] [Bb]
[G] [F]
[Bb] [D]
so we're still just using that minor blues scale.
And I'm starting here.
[C] [G] [Ab]
And then I do a slide from above here on the G string.
[G]
[F] And play.
[G]
[F]
[Gb] So this is a three fret bend.
One and a half whole steps.
I'm going [Am] from here to here.
[C] With that quick bend.
And [N] it's easy to bend too far.
And it sounds sour.
So you just have to practice bending into that correct note right away.
[Fm]
And as soon as you get to it, you end up here.
[Gb] So it's a pretty quick move.
[G]
[F]
[N]
[G] [Bb]
[Gm] Next we're going to play this Billy Gibbons type of thing.
[Am] [G]
So I'm sliding in with the middle finger here on the G [E] string.
[D] And then [Ab] I use my right hand middle finger to pluck on the B [Dm] string.
[Am]
Twice.
But that first note is still ringing.
And then do it a second time.
And then we slide up a whole step.
[G] But the figure is the same.
So we have.
[Am]
[G]
[D] And slowly.
[F]
[Fm] [Am] [G]
[Gm]
Then for the last lick, we're going to play this.
[N]
[Bb]
[B]
[D] [G]
[Em] So I'm starting with a whole step bend here.
Switch strings and play.
[A]
[N] So at the end there, there's a quick hammer on and pull off.
[A]
[N] And then we'll play.
[Gm]
So let's just play that part first.
And then the last part is.
[Ab] [Bb]
[N]
So I'm reaching up here with a pinky and do a pull [A] off.
And then go to the B string.
[Gm]
And then I bend here a half step from [N] here.
Go back to B string.
Hit that note and bend it slightly if you wish.
[Eb]
And finish the whole thing here on the root note D.
[G]
[C] [Ab] [Gm]
[Db]
[G]
[N]
[Eb] [D] And that's the whole thing.
Let me know how you like it.
