One of Blaze's real good friends is Jubal Clark and he's here with me right now.
How you doing Jubal?
Good Larry, glad to be here.
Tell me about the first time you met Blaze.
You remember that don't you?
Barely.
At least he reminds me of it a lot of times.
He sort of brought it back into focus.
Me and my band was up in New York and we played at the Lone Star Cafe.
So as Blaze tells it, he said, I always liked you from when I first met you up there in New York.
I said, I don't remember that Blaze.
And he said, well I was, and I had a flat temporarily across from the Bowery, you know, where the Salvation Army.
So I was sitting out there, according to Blaze, on some cardboard out in front of the flat drinking wine with some of the wine that was there.
And he said about an hour and a half later he dropped into the Lone Star Cafe and there I was up on stage playing.
He said I had to like you then because you was my kind of guy.
That's the story he told me and I'm sure it's true because he never told a lie.
So you tell Blaze's version of the first time you met him.
Not really.
Well, he sings your song Black Granite.
Yeah, that's real good.
In fact, we saw it just a little while ago.
I'm going to do that song also.
I should have done mine first.
Well, I'm going to turn you loose.
Jubal Clark, everybody.
