[N] Bloodgood, Lamb of God!
CBT guitar lesson for my good buddy Jason.
Me and Jason talk a lot.
So we were talking about Bloodgood.
And that's what we decided to go with.
Two of them actually.
We got another one coming up.
Man in the Middle.
[Eb] Big fan of Bloodgood.
I remember hearing them shortly after hearing
Striper.
[F] Always liked Les Carlson's voice.
And my buddy Oz [Eb] plays [G] periodically
with them.
Okay, this song is [Ab] flat, Jason.
So we're a half step down.
These [B] are CT lessons.
I told you I'd give you a
[Gb] partial CBT.
So we're going to grab, I don't know, [G] three, four
sections of this.
One second in, section one.
Bar the fourth fret
on the A and D.
Hammer to 5 [Gb]-5 with your middle.
[N] And then do the same thing but go open A-D to
hammer to A [Eb]-D.
And [N] then a quick open E palm mute.
So it's
And then start it over.
[Ab]
[Eb] But this time, the second one, it's in there quick.
[Gb]
When you hit that open E palm mute the second time
you'll end [Eb] up going 7-6-5-3 on the top.
[Gb] [D] Okay?
Then you'll start it back at the 4, [F] A and D.
[Am] Until the second time that you hammer [G] on to the second fret
then we'll throw in a D-5.
5-A-7 [Db]-D twice.
[Eb] And I was watching some live stuff, Jason.
[Gm] I usually
[Gb] do that because I'm just curious on neck placement.
And when you have
two guitar players, [Gm] Striper's great at [B] this, but
one guy [Db] may [Ab] go
The other may [E] go
So in one of the other sections I actually put it here.
The same chords
but just a little different tonality.
But it's clever use of the two guitar players.
[Eb]
[Db] [N]
Alright, two times of that.
Section 2 comes in at 12 seconds.
It's kind of a [Eb] playoff of that.
They'll go
[Ab]
[Eb]
[Ab] [Gb] There's that other D.
So you're gonna go
second fret barred A and D.
Short [Bb] rest.
[G]
Open E, 2A.
[Eb] Think of it like this.
[E]
Two times and then 12 times after that.
So you can [Bm] break that mathematically into three groups of four.
[F] Right?
So you'd [Ab] have
[Eb] Then back to the
hammers.
[G] 4A and D hammer to [Ab] 5.
Opens to
2.
[Eb]
Palm mute open E.
Back to the 4-5.
[F] Open 2.
And [Bm] then think of it like this.
[G]
Four [N] times palm muted on the open 2 EA.
And then you'll see double dots four times.
So that's gonna be [E] 16 times.
So [Ab] technically
[Ebm] [E] that's
all of [E] those.
And then [N] right back to the 4-5 groove.
So you'll have
[Ab]
[G] So the open E palm muted and then I told you I'd give you that alternate D chord.
Open D, [Fm] 2G and 3B [Db] twice.
[A] That is the [Db] same as this.
[Ab] A little higher tonality but when you have two guitar players
[Abm] Jason, you get the diverseness, right?
You get
a bigger EQ overall sound if that makes sense.
You know what I'm talking about.
[D] Let's do section 3
[Ab] 34 seconds in.
Real straight forward.
There's two [G] guitars.
This is a C5.
You'll go 3-5 [B] AD
to 5 [Db]-7.
Back to 3 [B]-5.
Back to 5 [Db]-7 to [Bb] 2.
[Gm] When you go to the 2-4 AD it's down, down up, down up.
[B] So it's [Db] G4.
Whole notes.
Whole measures.
[B] This time it's a [Db] half note.
1, [Bb] 2, 3.
No palm muting.
[E] Over that.
I wasn't sure
which guitar part to show [Gm] you.
There's like [Eb] a
Kind [Bm] of over it.
It's really cool.
It sounds good together.
Let's do section 4.
[N]
45 seconds in.
It's octaves.
7A
muted D and 9G.
And when you do octaves Jason, just
make sure you're muting.
Muting is just as important as [B] the notes.
I'm muting string 6 and technically I'm muting the B
[Bm] with my pinky and the [Eb] high E with this.
So I can hit all of them
and only hear the 2.
[Gb] [D] So alternate
8 [Eb] times.
9 [G]-11 octaves
4 times to 10 [D]-12.
4 times.
[Gb]
[Eb] [Gb] [B]
[Eb] [Db] [B] I'm guessing but I've got to turn [F] the page over.
And I was right.
[Gm] 3A-5G.
So these are C notes.
8 [Bb] times
7 [Ab]-9 4 times.
[G] 5-7 4 [B] times.
5 times.
[Ab] [Eb]
[Bbm] [B]
[Db] [Eb] [Fm] [B]
[Eb] [Db] [Bm]
Really rhythmically [G] dude, that's it.
The solo will just leave for you
and the [G] tabs.
He's doing some shredding man.
[Eb]
[Ab]
[G] Anyways.
That's all of your tabs.
Be ready to alternate pick dude and palm mute.
Alright there you go.
So that one's done.
[D] I've got your tabs for man in the middle.
I'm going to go ahead and record that next.
That one's in standard tuning so they use
2 different tunings.
If this is on the same album I think you said it was.
