_ _ _ _ [Gm] _ [C] We're back with Bob Weir, co [B]-founder of The Grateful Dead, and he's here [C#] with his traveling
band, Rat Dog.
You sound great, by the [N] way.
I'm curious, you were on tour so much of the time over the years with The Dead, but you
always had side projects.
Why [A] was that?
I love [D#m] to play.
Come [N] on. _
All right, good answer.
You have been working with the guys in Rat Dog since the early 90s, but this is your
first recording, and it's all new material, right?
Why did you finally decide to go into the studio with it?
Well, after the personnel in the band stabilized for a while, and we weren't teaching the new
guy whoever that was the old book, then we had time to write.
We started writing, and the next logical thing was to put it on wax.
It seems like nowadays music is so _
It almost seems computer generated, or it's like
some marketing genius got together and created some free fab act designed to appeal to a
very specific, narrow demographic group.
Your music isn't like that at all.
Your fan base really does span generations.
That's a unique opportunity you have [D] to create music from your soul, right?
You can't [A] computer generate something like [N] that.
The guy or the instruments? _ _
The guy.
The sticks?
The guy with the sticks. _ _
We're all about having fun, opening up the sky if we can. _
And opening up a bottle of snake oil.
Tell us all about your other passion, which is food.
I have occasion every now and again to mess around in the kitchen, and a bunch of friends
sort of got on me about, hey, listen, man, you should bottle this stuff.
You could sell it for profit like Paul Newman does, or sell it for non-profit.
And it seemed like a decent idea, so that's what we're doing.
Terrific, and it's not computer generated either.
He was up early this morning in his kitchen whipping this up.
Tell us what you're going to whip up for us right now.
We're going to do a most condensed version of [F#] Ashes in Glass.
They seem to be familiar with it.
Take it away. _

Oregon and New Mexico.

they might want [G#] to check it out, make sure the [D#] foundation is sound, the plumbing.
We're going to have Mr.
