[G]
If you don't [D] love her, [C] you better let her [G] go
You'll never [D] fool her, [C]
you're bound to let it [G] show
[Dm] Love's so [C] hard to take when you [D] have to fake everything [C] in return
[A] You [C]
[D] just preserve her when you serve her little [G] tenderness
[C] If she's a woman, [D] [C] she'll try to make it [G] last
If you're [D] a man now, [C] you'd better end it [G] fast
There's [C] no reason here, no [D] treason here
[Em] Just the way of a [C] woman's mind
[Am] Well, she [D] has no blame, [Em] she has no [D] shame
[G] She just loves you
It's not easy [C] to undo [G] what's done
Or to speak too [D] freely [C]
to just [G] anyone
And [C] if this takes more than [D] you bargained for
[Em] Boy, it's [Am] time [C] you learned [Am] not [C] to [Dm] talk so loud
Or walk so [G] proud when you're coming on

[A] [D] [G]
[E] Hi, Stevie.
[G]
[C] [Am] [C]
The first song I did was a Sippy Wallace tune.
And [D#] Sippy Wallace [G] is a really fine blues woman who is still alive, lives in [E] Detroit.
She recorded back in the 20s and 30s, [G] and as a matter of fact, is recording now.
I just got a letter [F#] from her.
I think she thinks [G] I'm in the [C#] Carpenters,
because she said something about, [F#] I hope you can come to Detroit.
And my hands have arthritis, but I can still play the piano.
I'm doing only [D#] gospel now.
[A#m] People get old, that's sort of what they turn to.
They don't do the blues [D] anymore.
[A] She says, well, I'll play piano and you can play drums.
[C] And then the [G] next letter she started calling me Donna.
So, [C] I don't know.
She sent me a 45, [F#] though, one size.
I've got a really nice song called Mother Nature's the Cause of It All.
The other one's a song called [G] Junior, My Little Parakeet Bird.
[D#]
She's really [G] on up.
She's a really fine woman, plays a really [F#] nice piano,
and has written some of the best tunes I can think [C] of.
[Am] It's real nice to do women's tunes.
[F#] A lot of times, I really like Fred McDowell and a lot [E] of Delta [Em] stuff,
but it's kind of harder than my voice can take.
And [G] it's nice to find [F#] somebody that's sort of in the same mood.
[C#] This is [D#] a tune of hers called Women Be Wise.
