Chords for Born Under a Bad Sign - Guitar lesson

We're gonna have a look at the cream version of born under a bad sign, and it's a very cool blues riff
Albert King is the original writer of that and
[Gm] _ _ It's in G pentatonic minor [D] so it comes out of a scale.
It's a single note line
coupled with
One D ninth chord [Gm] which we'll get to in a minute, but the scale G pentatonic minor _
[G] scale
starts on the four which is C
So that would be third fret fifth string with your first finger then
with your third finger
Fifth fret fifth string then you cross over first finger
_ fourth string third fret and then third finger fourth string
Fifth fret and then you cross over one more time for a third string third fret with your first finger
So goes [D] like this and [Bb] _
when you get up to this note.
It's a B flat when you get up to it
You just drop [G] back down to the G with your third finger on the fourth string
fifth fret and it [D] comes out like this
[Gm] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ one
one [D] two three four one
_ [Gm] _ _ _ _ [Gm] So that's the second [C] part of your riff
_ [Gm] _ _ Second part of your riff goes from the [D] fifth string
_ _ _ [Gm] Same [C] same as the first section of the [Bb] riff
Just go up three notes
_ [G] _ so it'll [D] be you know and
_ [Gm] _ _ _ [Bb] _ _ What you do at the end is you go?
This is a B flat.
This is on your sixth [G] fret
Sixth string and then your tonic note the G note on the third fret sixth string
[D] so in the end
[Gm] _ _ _ [Bb] _
_ [G] _ _ [Gm] _ _ [Dm] _ _ _
[E] That's the feel for it.
There's a little bit of a pause right
It's just like you take a look at it if you were singing or telling a story
_ You have a little pause in between the two variations, so it's one two three [D] four one
[Gm] _
_ [C] _ [Bb] _ _ _ _ [Gm] _ _
_ _ [Bb] _ [G] _ _ You got that once you got that you got a good portion of the song a couple more interesting things that it does a
chromatic run [C]-up and
[D] _ _ _ [C] _
_ Then runs back down
With the D ninth chord we'll get to that in just a second, so there's an intro riff at the very beginning
[Gm] _
_ [E] _ [Bb] _ _ _ [D] _ _ [Gm] _
_ _ [Bb] _ [C] Then the voice starts we do three more
_ [Gm] _ [Dm] _ _ [Bb] _ two more
[Gm] _ _ [C] _ _ one more
_ [Eb] _
_ [C] _ [Bb] _ _ right here _ _
[Db] _ _ [B] _ [Cm] Use your first finger on the second fret [B] fifth string
[C] Use your second finger on the third [Db] fret fifth string use your [Gm] third finger on the fifth
_ string fourth fret and then finally when you get to the
Fifth string fifth fret you're playing a [D] D ninth chord
Which is a kink bar chord my first finger for the D ninth chord is on the fourth string fourth fret
My second finger is on the fifth string fifth fret and my third finger kink bars
the third second and first string and that's the D nine and
[Ab] then you have to learn to move around that is a bit of a tricky chord and
You have [C] to wrap your thumb around [E] a little bit to get this it's not you can't
Keep the thumb [Dm] behind.
It's not as a conventional chord
_ So now we got to put it together
[B] It goes to the run up the chromatic run up _ [Eb] to the D ninth chord
[D]
Strike the D bass note _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [C] _ _ _
_ _ So I move that chord around right I go from the [Fm] D to the D [D] flat or C sharp back to the D
[Eb] Then back down C sharp [E] and C
_ [C] _ [D] _ _ _ [C] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [D] _ _ [C] _ _
_ [B] Do it again
_ _ [G] one two three four [B] one
_ [D] _ _ _ [C] _
_ _ _ [Gm] _ _ [D] _ _ _
_ _ [Dm] _ [Gm] _ _ _ [Bb] _ _
[G] _ Isn't that just the coolest riff so let's practice
_ the whole section the
The verse which is three times the riff and then go to this chromatic passing note chorus part
