The original [Bm] idea for Jesus [F] in Disguise [C] actually came from my [G] friend Lee Miller, who [Am] I wrote
a lot of my last [Bm] record with.
And I was [G] writing with Lee and a guy named [C] Ross Copperman, [Bm] and this [Am] is actually the fifth
[F#] song that we wrote [Em] together for this record.
[C] And Lee said, what about Jesus in Disguise, [G] just as an [Am] idea.
And
[Em] it just hit [F] both
[C] Ross and I [Am] like, that's a really [Em] great title.
But we didn't know [F#] where to go with it.

[F#] For me, constantly going back to Blue Mountain [E] and trying to figure out a character to [C#m] write
from, I thought about this [B] old sage that lives on the mountain [F#] and he's blind.
And a [C#m] young man [F] comes up to him and [E] says, you know, I keep [G#m] hearing about Jesus, but
why should I believe in him?
I can't see him.
[C#m] What's the evidence that would make me [E] believe in Jesus?
And the old man looks at the young boy and he says,
[F#]
[E]
[F#]
That's Jesus in disguise.
He comes in ways that you would never expect.
[E] Far across [C#m] the sky, you were looking [B] for a king you would never recognize.
