Alright, let's break it down.
Alright, the original album recording is kind of like a solo Bob Dylan acoustic style, and
so it's not really in any standard tuning, it's a little in between, but then I went
to listen to a live version, and they're playing it this way, so capo on the second fret, and
then most of it is just E [F#m] minor to _ [A] G, _ _ _ however you can play it, G, or this, with these fingers, _
[D] and then C _ _ _ _ _ back to [A] G, however you can play it. _ _
[F#m] _ _ [F#m] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [A] _ [F#] Down, down, up, up, down, up, down, down, up, up, down, up, down, down, up, up, down,
up, down, down, up, [F#m] up, down, up, [A] down, up, is when you switch to that G [F#m] chord, _ [A] _ _ [D] _ _ [A] so it's
every other [F#m] chord is that up, _ [A] _ _ _ [D] _ _ [A] _
_ [F#m] _ [A] _ _ _ or it's [F#m] the G is on the up.
[A] _ _ _ _ [E] Now if you let the [G#] open B ring out with the G chord, I think that melds with the vocal
melody [F#m] a little easier probably.

[A] _ _ _ _ [F#m] _ _ _ _
[A] _ [E] And so if you just play that, you can pretty much get through the whole song, and it's
a great beginner one if you're a fan of the boss, so you can start working on that, however
he uses a D chord, and now the way they do this live, they have a full band, drums, it's
a little bit more of a rock song, somewhere in between.
_ The chorus, the chords are just the same as the verse and the chorus, but he uses a D
chord as _ [B] a little transition, so if you're [F#m] playing the regular progression, [A] E minor G,
C [F#m] G, E minor G, [D] [E] C D, _ _ [F#] there's just one little D chord in there to mix it up.
[A] _ _ _ [E] _
_ [F#] _ [A] _ _ _ _ [N] Now I think [F#m] the intention of the chorus [A] on _ _ _ the live version, it just [F#m] keeps going E minor
G, C G, in the album, _ the more like Bob Dylan thing, there's one part in the chorus, first
the chorus is A G, C [F#m] G, _ [A] _ _ [F#m] _ _ _ _
[A] E minor G, _ [F#m] D, E minor, _ _ [F#] _ _ [A] _ _ [F#m] _ _
[A] _ [D] _ [A] _ _ so there's a beginner one for you to work
on and practice.
