Hello everyone.
Okay, so today I'm finally getting around to doing my tutorial for my bubblegum cover.
So yeah, this is actually a really simple song and I hope this helps a lot of you.
So throughout this whole song, there are only four chords that I play, which is D minor, [G] G7, [C] C, and C7.
[Am] You want to make sure that your uke is tuned, which should be G, C, E, A.
[C] [Dm] Mine's a little out of tune because I don't know.
So yeah, let's get started.
So to play the D minor chord, you're just going to put your pointer on the E string, first fret,
and your middle and ring finger on the second fret of the G and C string.
So it should be here, up here, and right there.
Like that.
That's D minor.
[G] And then to switch to G7, you're just going to move your middle and your ring finger down.
So your ring finger is going to go on the bottom string, the A string, second fret, and then your middle finger is going to go on the C string, second fret.
So here and there.
And this finger stays the same.
That's [C] G7.
And then you're going to go to C, which is the easiest chord.
So you just take your, whatever finger works best.
I usually just go for my ring finger because it's right on that string already.
You just slide up to the third fret, C, and then you're going to go to the first fret.
And that's C7.
So that's basically all the chords that I use in this song.
So to do the plucking, it's very simple actually.
You're going to have your thumb, pointer, your middle, and your ring finger all on four strings.
And the first thing you're going to do is [B] just pluck it, and you're going to go down, starting from [Dm] the second string.
And then you switch chords.
[G] You do the same thing.
[C]
[B] So basically you do that, but you can add a little bit if you, like, just [Dm] do your thing.
Just add your own thing.
So what I did was like this, and then back.
[B]
[C]
[Ab] So yeah, it's [Dm] pretty simple.
You just practice that.
It's really not that hard.
And that's basically all I do.
And I just do that for the beginning.
So that only lasts, like, I don't know, a couple measures.
[G] [C]
[Dm] And then as soon as I start singing, I just play the chords that I strummed out.
Mute.
[G] Down, [C] down, mute.
Down, mute.
To mute, you're just [Dm] going to strum down.
So you just strum down twice.
Down, down, up, mute.
[G]
[Ab] [C] Down, down, up, mute.
Down, down, up, [Dm] mute.
And every time I play this song, it's a little different each time, so you definitely don't need to follow this.
But yeah, those are just the four chords.
D minor, [C] G7, C7.
So these are not the exact chords of the song, but it just fit how I played it.
So yeah, I really hope that was helpful, and I'm really glad that I finally did that tutorial.
And I'm probably going to start posting more covers soon, because it's finally summertime now.
