International Steel Guitar [G] Convention.
[E]
All the people across the country [Ab] and the world,
[G] getting them all together [Gm] creates a little [F] different.

[G] The history, [B] my gosh, the entire history of the steel guitar is right here on this stage.
[Eb] A little piece of nostalgia for you.
[B] I would say 90% [G] of the steel guitar [A] players that [G] originated the steel guitar as we know it are still alive.
Now you can't say that about any other [Ab] instrument.
[A] Take Liam McCollough, [Bb] that goes back to [B] Bob Wills and the Texas Playboy days.
Look at [Ab] Jerry Berg.
These guys are still alive.
You can see them right [B] here at Steel Guitar Convention.
There's your history.
And a vital part of that history is added each year with the induction into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame.
[C] Ladies and gentlemen, this year's [B] inductee is [Bm] Shot Jackson.
Shot [F] Jackson.
[Dm] Shot Jackson, ladies and gentlemen.
[G]
[C]
[D] [F]
Got to be the epitome of [Eb]
recognition.
[G] It's hard to handle, but you [F] love it.
[C] Shot Jackson played dobro and steel guitar for Roy Acuff, Kitty Wells, and Johnny and Jack.
But Shot's done more for the instrument than [Eb] just play it.
Everybody wanted to pedal on their guitar.
[G]
[Eb] And racing over the pitch and so forth.
Shot approached me one night in the alley after a show at WSM called the Friday Night Rally.
And he [Bm] showed me a keyhead.
He said, I have an idea for a guitar.
He said, would you like to be part of it?
And I said, yeah.
[Gb] We went to his garage and started the show Bud Guitar.
And I think we created a monster, don't you?
[G] [Em]
