BURY TOMORROW - 'RUNES' Track by Track, part 2 (OFFICIAL INTERVIEW) chords
Start Jamming...
[G]
It's the best thing you can do [F#] to listen to Darker Waters, which is the same song.
It's the same song.
This song was [B] originally
Or Darker Water.
[Em] I think you got it wrong.
[F#] Give me your wrist.
Fat boy.
You've got rings on me.
[G] Sorry bro.
Yeah, this song originally was going to be a [E] bonus track.
But once it was all together, we liked [C] it so much that we were like,
there's no way this is waiting [E] for a bonus track.
This is going straight on the original album.
It was the case of that one.
Literally, last minute, we'd written this and Outstanding Tapas [F] for the [F#] bonus edition.
But we liked it so much, we really couldn't bear to part with it.
So it's the best thing you can do.
[G#m] It is most definitely the best thing you can do.
[D] [B]
When she's gone, I just [Gm] laugh.
I want more to [E] stop.
My soul is not where [G] I'm from.
I can't stop [A] my desire.
[G#] This is Shut It Out.
Another journey for [F#] those who own the CD and are reading the back cover.
Yeah.
Jase has a lovely story about this.
Well, I think, I don't know.
About this [G] song is
It's probably [E] got one of the best intros, I think.
Very fast.
It's probably, I think,
if you like your Buried Tomorrow cheesy
With an extra side of cheese.
With an extra bit of cheese on [G] top of it.
And a piece of brie on that.
Then this is probably, yeah,
[N] this is probably the song for you.
I think it's [G] got a pretty cheesy chorus,
but in a good way.
I think there's a lot to be [F#] said for cheese in [C] music and in general.
I mean, imagine if you [D#] got your pizza
and it didn't have any cheese on it.
[G#] You'd be like, yo, take this pizza back.
I want [F#] cheese on this.
And that's kind of what we did [G] with this song.
Jase sang a pizza river chorus.
And we were like, this is amazing.
And we were like, we need to put a bit of cheese on that pizza, Jason.
Yeah.
So we did.
Basically, imagine if you ordered a pizza
and got extra, extra cheese.
[Dm] Some people wouldn't like it,
but [F#] me and Dad would love it.
So [B] extra cheese, and then it [G#] was delivered by Brian Adams.
[D] [G] Let them hear us.
[A] [E]
Let them hear us.
Our [G] song will never be [Bm] forgotten.
[F#] Cheese in the Bean.
[A] Also [Em] known as Under the Sun.
This is actually one of my favourite choruses [E] on the record.
Before it had any vocals on it,
I used to call this the Queens of the Stone Age song
because it reminded me of the first Queens album.
[F#m] [Em] But then when Jase sang over it,
it [F#] completely changed the way I heard the chorus as a whole.
It's definitely in my top chorus.
I love [E] this one.
Yeah, I've got a lot of time for this song.
It's very simple structure-wise.
It's probably one [G#m] of the most simple on the record.
I'm a sucker [G#] for a good pop structure though.
[F#] It's a very simple structure,
so easy for people to work out in their head.
Yeah, I mean, it's a great tune.
I do like it.
There's a few parts of that [B] song
that you wouldn't hear.
There's a few parts, guitar-wise,
you wouldn't hear on any other part of the album.
We don't think it's quite as good.
Maybe [C] an instrument.
We'll go in a [Em] little bit.
It's a definite good tune.
[E] You had a really big hand in writing [G#] that one riff as well.
I [F#] think that [E] because Dawson and you have a slightly different style of riffing,
I guess that's why [F#] this record,
this particular song,
stands out for me
because it was a very different chorus for the rest [A#] of the song.
[D#] [D#m] [F#] I'm such [C#] a fool!
I'm such a fool!
Not to blame [F#] for the shame in my name.
Or Year of the Harvest.
Whereas
[G] Cheese and the Bean
is my favourite chorus,
[F#m] I think
Year of the Harvest
actually is [G] some of my
favourite vocals of Dan's.
He comes into [F#] his own in this song.
The pace is perfect.
He [G] sounds so
He sounds like a 40 year old
bald man from Munich.
[A] And I really like that about this song.
[G] He did do well.
He did do well.
Yes, he did [A] do well.
He did do very well.
I'm not sure if he did that well.
What [N] would you say more?
Copenhagen?
Are you putting this more
Icelandic or German?
German?
What [E] would you say Year of the Harvest sounds more?
If it [F#] was a
[E] European country [F] I think
that this song would be Germany.
And I think that says a lot about this song.
So [G#m] when we were kids
and we were in school, what was it [D] about the harvest
that we used to really
It was the cans of food
that [F#] you had to bring in and basically Dan wrote
a song [D] about that.
But what was it?
Was it called The Harvest?
Yes, The Harvest Festival.
So this song is pretty much
about the year me and Dan one time
[C]
when we carved a pumpkin for Halloween
and just had a great time.
[Em] [B]
[C] [D] [E]
[G] [C] [D]
[Em] [B] [C]
[G] [E] [G]
[Bm] I'll shoot a shot into the dark of the night.
