[Gm] And welcome [G] to Harmonica Breeze.
I'm Ami Luz and I will guide [C] you through, play [Gm] for you, the harmonica [G] in this chapter, the chromatic [C] harmonica 12 holes.
As we can [G] see here, [D] we have 12 holes [Db] [G] chromatic harmonica with a button [C] on the [G] right side.
When you push the button you get half note or half tone [E] up.
So let's see how it builds without [G] using the special button, chromatic [E] button.
[N] Here we have all the 12 holes and if we blow any [B] hole we get the notes which [D] on the top side.
And if you draw those notes we get the notes that underneath this table.
Now let's see [N] how it builds and how it sounds.
I will play each octave, each 8 notes in the scale, in the scale of C major scale and we shall see how it goes.
First of all from hole number 1 till hole number 4 from note C up to note C, [E] 8 notes.
[C]
[Dm] [E]
[Bb] [G] [D]
[Bm] [D]
[N] So we have all the major scale, the first octave of the chromatic harmonica.
Now the second octave from hole number 5 [E] C till hole number 8 C.
And it sounds like that.
[C] [Bb]
[E] [Bb] [Gm]
[F] [Bm] [D] [N]
That was the second octave of the chromatic harmonica.
Now the third, the upper octave of the chromatic harmonica from hole number 9 C to hole number 12 C.
[E] And it sounds like that.
[G] As you can see all those octaves are full octaves which means you can hear all the [N] notes of major scale in any one of them.
So the chromatic harmonica is very comfortable to [Gm] play and it sounds the same and [G] you play the same in any octave.
[E] And it's very convenient.
So after we know that
[N] I just once can play for you all the chromatic scale which means all the sharps from [B] C up [Gm] and I am using now the chromatic button.
[C]
[Db] [D] [Eb] [E] [Gb] [Gm] [Ab]
[Bb] [E] [C]
[D] [Bb]
[D] [N]
[E]
[G] So as you see you [Ebm] have [G] all the tones and half tones of the scale, 3 [B] octaves, full 3 [Bm] octaves.
It means that [N] you can play any song that you want, classic music, complicated classic music and any scale that you want.
But you don't really bend the notes here in dengers, you can harm the harmonica.
And you can't really play chords like in the atonic harmonica.
So now just to know a little bit more about the possibility of the chromatic harmonica.
You have here [B] a table with all different kind of [N] chromatic harmonica.
Chromatic harmonica with 8 holes, just 2 octaves.
Chromatic harmonica with 10 holes, 2 and a half octaves.
12 holes harmonica with full 3 octaves which is the most convenient.
14 holes, [G] 3 and a half octaves.
[B] The half octave is on the lower side of the harmonica and the lower side of the [N] sound.
Now 16 holes harmonica which hold full [G] 4 octaves.
It means all those 3 octaves that we play and one more octave on the lower side of the [E] harmonica.
So now after we know all this [G] we can move up and go to lesson number 1 and start learning song and play the notes.
Good luck, see you on the first lesson.
Bye bye.
