Hi, [C#] I'm Katja Dean again.
I'm here in [C] Custis in Ennis and I'm going to play a few tunes
of my new CD that I just [B] brought out this week.
It's called Katja Dean [C] and the tunes
are, the first one is a wall, it's called Sunday's Bell that I wrote a few years ago.
I've written a couple earlier but the first one is called Elevators and I wrote it when
I was stuck in Lyth last year in Australia.
And then [C] I'll finish up with a gnomes reel
called [D] The Shepherd's Daughter.

Will you tell me one thing, we know your father, he's pretty renowned, tell us about
your mother and the influence she had on your [G] music and your dancing.
My mam was a dancer, she's a set dancer and step dancer and her parents came from West
Clare, from Lysgarn and Finland and they were dancers so all [D] her side of the family are set dancers.
What family name?
Murphy.
I learned how to dance from them and I brought along to Kayleys from when I was
five or [Am] six with my mam and I was her partner so [Bm] that's how I learned and I've been dancing
all my life, I've went to lessons and [C] did all the competitions and stuff like that.
[G] She's sort of, the dancing [C] has influenced on my playing and vice versa.
Sure, lovely rhythm to it.
Thanks.
And [G#] listen, what influenced, a concertina player that would have influenced you dramatically
or is there any one or a couple?
A [D] concertina player, probably Mícheál O'Reilly.
Mícheál was my teacher and Mícheál lives in Meath as [C] well so he probably influenced
me a lot.
I listen to a lot of music, accordions and fiddles.
Great.
[D] Listen, best of luck and best of luck off in America with your
