[A] [E] Hi, I'm Zach Harper.
[D] Today we're going to be [E] questing on five new [C#m] ukuleles from Fender.
[E] That's right.
They're making ukuleles
All right, let's check them out
[A] Let's first [E] check out the two soprano [F] size ukuleles
[E] Right now I'm playing the C [A#] side and [F#] along with the Venice [A] ukulele
These are soprano bodies, which means that they're smaller [Am] and when you're a little kid
[G] This actually fits really well with you because it's a lot easier to learn on a soprano ukulele than [F] it is on a bigger
Ukulele, so this was like the first [N] size
I learned on the C side along with all the other ukulele spenders has has a really cool new feature
It's called the no tie bridge and that just means it's a lot easier to change a string
Usually you'd have to wrap a string around this thing and tie a knot on the bridge side
But now you can just tie a knot stick it in there wired in
You're in already.
So the C side ukulele has actually made a real mahogany wood
It's not that cheap plastic kind of stuff.
So they're not toys kind of the real deal
The Venice ukulele has a tele headstock.
It's kind of like your classic Telecaster guitar
We're hanging out with the Zuma ukulele right now.
And this is a concert body ukulele
It's in between a tenor and a soprano ukulele and it's not too big
It's not too [G#] small has a little bit more fret so you can [A#] kind of do a little bit more [C#] shreddy kind of stuff
[A#] And it also [C#] has a Telecaster headstock [F] for that classic Telecaster look
So right now we're playing the ring con and this is a tenor body ukulele
That means it's the biggest one.
It also is made out of oven call wood with a solid top
Basically means it's a bolder sound resonates better and sounds pretty awesome
[A] Another [F#] cool thing about this ukulele [A] is that it has a fishman pickup in it.
You can plug it into an amp PA
Playing live and [F#m] what's cool about it has a built-in tuner
So you don't even need to bring [Dm] a tuner and another really cool thing is it has [A] an EQ on it
That means you can kind of get the sound that you want if [Dm] it's too bright if it's too dark
You can kind of brighten it up or darken [A] it which is very rare
I've never seen that before so I dialed in a sound that I really like and you're gonna hear [F] it through a Fender acoustic amp
[C] [F] [G#m] The final ukulele that we're gonna be talking about today is the Montecito.
This is a tenor body.
It means the biggest one
It's also constructed all from coal wood, which is wood from Hawaii when I was a kid
Everybody wanted to have the coal wood ukuleles
It's kind of like the nicest ones and the ones that were the best
Feels really good to be able to have one now coal wood
Sick, it kind of gives it a more like resonating mid-range and also a little sprinkle on the high end [F] feels really good
And I [G] really like that has like a low G string on that
It also features a solid top which helps the ukulele resonate better, which is typically a higher-end feature
It's a lot of attention to detail with this ukulele
It's got abalone purfling and rosette which makes it stand out a little bit extra also has a Fender style Telecaster headstock
It makes for a really nice looking ukulele
