11 years ago I got born again to the bone.
That means everything changed.
changed, my [A] direction in life changed.
the Lord [G#] with my talent.
or anything like that.
wherever I could [G] get work.
Price, [C#] when I found Jesus,
to find [F#] out what it was like to sell [B] out to Him totally and completely.
That means everything changed.
changed, my [A] direction in life changed.
the Lord [G#] with my talent.
or anything like that.

11 years ago I got born again to the bone. _
That means everything changed.
[D] My attitude changed, my walk [G] changed, my goals changed, my [A] direction in life changed.
[A#m] And I made a [A] decision back then to serve the Lord [G#] with my talent.
Now I was not no big [G] secular star or anything like that.
I was just singing in [F#] bars and clubs and hunky tonks and drinky dinks wherever I could [G] get work.
_ But [G#] when I found the Pearl of Great Price, [C#] when I found Jesus,
_ _ I wanted to find [F#] out what it was like to sell [B] out to Him totally and completely.
[Cm] So I took what I had, I could barely strum the guitar [F] at the time, I was not a songwriter.
[E] Matter of fact I made my living playing drums.
_ [G#] _ _ [C]
And [B] I just made a decision to serve the Lord.
So I wanted to write songs that were different, you know.
And I wanted to do something that not everybody else [G#] was necessarily doing.
[D] And I wanted to write [B] songs where people really live.
Like I'm just curious here, how many here have ever heard of soap operas?
[N] _ _ _ _ _
How many of you know somebody right now that's really into soap operas right now?
Come on.
_ _ How many of you sit next to somebody you know is into soap operas right now? _ _ _ _ _
How many of you sit next to somebody you just wish they was into soap right now?
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Now these soap operas, they're very, very special.
Now really, where else can you see every immorality known to man? _ _
Done by everybody, to each other, every day, all within an hour.
Hey, what a deal, you know.
_ _ _ The Bible does not say, Thou shalt not watch a soap opera as I present.
But it does give us a divine principle to live by.
It says, Whatsoever [A] things are pure [G#] and holy and just and honest and of good rapport,
if there be any [A] virtue or any praise, well, [D#] think on these things.
Jesus says, As a man thinks in his heart, [N] so is he.
Basically garbage in, _ garbage out.
So I put a little song together and I kind of [C#m] put it in soap lingo.
[N] So that the soaper can understand exactly what I'm saying. _ _
So this is a song I believe will be a Christian's perspective on soap operas.
And it's a song called, _ Soap Song. _
_ _ _ _ [D] _ _ _ _
_ _ [B] _ _ _ [Em] _ _ _
_ [A] _ _ _ [A#] _ _ _ _
[D] _ _ Gone are the [Am] days _ of [D] Lieber to Bieber, _ _ [G] _ Matt [Gm] Dillon and his sidekick [D] Festus.
_ _ [Em]
Now [A] we survive on the [Bm] immoral lives of those, [E] the young and the [Em] restless.
_ [A] _ _ _
_ [D] It's not that they're young, they're just restless.
[Am] _ _ [D] _ _ _ [Bm] _
Not [Gm] living at all like [D] they should. _ _
[Em] So they go to [A] the general [Bm] hospital. _
[Em] _ _ [A] And the doctors can do [G] no good.
_ [C] _ [Em] So they keep on with [A] their search for [D] tomorrow.
_ [F#] _ _ [Em] Not doing one thing [D] that's right.
_ [G] And they all [A] end up in the hospital.
And they all end up [D] in [Bm] another world. _
[E] _ About to fall off the edge of [Em] night. _
[A] _ _ _ [E] _ _ [D] _ _
Well that shouldn't matter, [Am] because after all, as the [D] world turns.
[G] _ You [Gm] only have but [D] one life to live.
_ _ _ [Em] There [A] remains a blessed hope for [D] you and all [Bm] your children.
_ [E] More hope than Ryan could [Em] ever give.
[A] _ [F#] If _ _ _ [F#m] we want true contentment, [Am] _ [D] peace in our homes.
[G] With an end to [A] marital strife.
_ [B] [Em] We must live for [A] Jesus Christ.
[D] The only [C] _ guiding [F#m] _ light.
[E] _ _ _ [B] _ _
_ _ _ _ Not _ _
[E] _ one, but [A] all the days of [G] our lives.
That means everything changed.
