[F#]
[F#m] I'm Caroline [Bm] Jones.
I'm a singer, songwriter, performer, and radio show host.
[F#] I'm selfish [Bm] if I please myself.
I'm good [F#] if I please
I play a variety of instruments.
[B] Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, dobro, banjo, piano, harmonica.
I was always going to be an artist.
Even when I was just [F#] a tiny, tiny girl, before I could read, I [C#] would draw all the time.
Then I would write [F#m] all the time.
Then I would [C#] just write poems and stories all day.
And then when I was nine years old, I begged my parents for singing lessons.
That's when there was no going back for me.
[F#]
Tough guys, one of the [B] squirrels, the plain nice [F#] guys.
I'm just [B] trusting you guys.
Guys, I think [F#m] I'm fragile.
Tough guys, cause I'm [B] in love with a
And I [F#] burn eyes if it makes you [B] cry, if it makes you cry.
Well, sorry, [A] but [F#] that's just [G#] tough guys.
[A#]
[F] [G] Rick Wake, my [C] co-producer, is so valuable [F] to me as a team member [Dm] and as a partner.
[C] We've really developed a partnership and a true collaboration.
And what I found in Rick was a partner who compliments me perfectly.
[Fm]
Rick has worked [A#] with Mariah Carey, Whitney [F] Houston, Celine Dion, like the list just goes on and on and on.
A little too late maybe, baby, [C] but that's the fun
[N] Caroline Jones is one of a kind artist.
She really is.
She brings energy, she brings passion.
She's a great songwriter, great musician.
She plays [C] everything.
[A#] [F]
[Dm] The [C]
[A#] important thing as a musician or a producer is that you have a point of view.
You come to the table with a point of view of what you're after, and you're connected to yourself,
and then you're connected [F] to the source, and then the music comes.
And she is exactly [A#] that.
[F] [C]
[F] [F#] I think the production is pretty different, you know, because we built it here with such a small team.
A really inspired group of people that have really contributed amazing things to this album.
Whether it be Glenn Wharf or Nir Z or [C#] Gustavo Salas, it's been [F#] an incredible journey musically with these [C#] people.
[B] Basically we form like a little family, you know, during this time.
[F#] And [B]
it's [F#] a joy to really be part of that and to see it happen.
She's not one of [C#] these artists that just [B] mails it in and, you know, lets the producer and or musicians make the record
and then just comes [D#m] back and sings on it.
Believe me, [C#] there are a lot of [F#] artists that are that way.
[C#] She's fully invested.
She [D#m] knows this is what [F#] she wants to do.
And [C#] I knew [A#m] right away, wow, [B] you know,
There is a person [F#] who's very confident [C#] and serious [F#] and [B] a real musician.
[D#m] You know, [C#] she's the real deal.
[F#] Guys, I love you so much.
Okay, do [Bm] you think something's wrong with me?
We should move on now.
[G] [D]
[Bm]
[G] The songwriting process [D] for me is very [Am] intuitive.
I've noticed over [B] the years that my best songs [G] just come really fast and really [A] naturally.
I like a good melody.
I like a good hook.
And [Bm] I've tried to cultivate my [G] songwriting process over the years to [D] incorporate that.
Because especially [A] playing live so much, you really see [Bm] what people can hold [A] on to [D] melodically.
[A] So I would say [G] I'm more poetic in [Bm] my lyrics [D] and a little [A] more conventional [D] in my melodies.
Oh, I [Bm] must be quiet enough to [G] hear the sound.
The song [D] inside my soul as it echoes [A] in the clouds.
Sing it, brothers, [Bm] sing it loud.
[A] [G] [D]
[A] This [Bm]
[D]
[A] [F#m] is Art [A] and Soul with Caroline Jo.
[F#m] So [Bm] I have a [C] radio show on Sirius XM.
[Dm]
[C] It's called Art and Soul.
[F]
[G] Inside the [C] art of songwriting to the heart and [Fm] soul [E] of the song.
And it's a musical [C#] conversation.
I feel like there's a real acoustic [C] singer-songwriter [G] renaissance happening.
So a singer-songwriter guest [E] comes on and he or she will play a [G] song, I'll play a song.
We tell the stories behind [E] their songs.
Singer-songwriters have stories and [G] wisdom and lessons to share through their music and through their platform [D] as an artist.
[A] [D] [G]
This is my wall [D] of heroes, which is a collection of pictures that I've amassed [G] over the years.
And hung in the studio where we made the record.
Just of [D] my heroes to feel like [G#] they're looking down on me and I can have some of their magic dust rub off on me artistically and [F] creatively.

[G] When [D]
I was 17, I went down to Nashville and really fell in love with country music.
[A] It was the experience of [G] watching someone pour [A#] their heart and soul out [A] with just [Bm] their voice and an acoustic guitar.
[A#] I've always been kind of an old soul [A] and I always wrote poetry.
And so I was always attracted to that kind of depth and that kind of honesty.
But to see it [A#] in Nashville from these songwriters [A] was kind of like a homecoming for me.
[Bm] [D]
You can't really, [A] really, truly be [D] happy in the deep sense [F#] of the word.
You know, the kind that's [G] untouchable by [A] other people.
Unless you [Bm] really know who you are and [A] you've taken [D] the time to delve into what [Gm] contribution you can make to the world.
And I know [A] that my contribution is music.
[Bm]
[D] Part of the [N]
evolution of Caroline's career was the Heart is Smart Tour.
[Em] She was able to play in front of 150 [F#m],000 kids, tour [Em] the country, [G] and really connect with them [E] in a thoughtful way.
[D] She did workshops for vocals, for songwriting.
It was a great artist development thing for her, as well as [A] the kids she [Bm] worked with.
I love playing instruments, I love [D] singing, I love songwriting, I love [A#] producing, I love performing.
So that's who I am [F#] and [A] I'm glad people are connecting with that.

_ I was 17, I went down to Nashville and really fell in love with country music.

Unless you [Bm] really know who you are and [A] you've taken [D] the time to delve into what [Gm] contribution you can make to the world.

evolution of Caroline's career was the Heart is Smart Tour.
