[Bb]
I will be the biggest dork in heaven.
If there is a way to mess up being [Gm] a Christian, I've
cracked the [F] code and I have a master's degree.
I have [Bb] a pretty lousy temper, really selfish
in the mornings when I wake up.
I'm pretty impulsive.
I have a very quick tongue and
on top of that my best spiritual gifts are dyslexia and ADD.
[Gm] When I read scripture, [F] going
into it, I might think somebody like [Eb] me could never be used by God or [Gm] forgiven or changed
or anything.
But [F] when I read scripture, I see that God uses the [Eb] foolish things of the
world to [Gm] shame the wise, the weak things [F] of the world to shame the strong, the things
that aren't, [Bb] to nullify the things that are, to show that this [F] all-surpassing power is
from God and not from us so that no one [Gm] can boast before Him.
And that's [F] good stuff.
But what I [Eb] fear is that the world is not [Bb] hearing that story from the church.
What I think they're
hearing [F] from us are the TV shows that we would never [Gm] watch and the places [F] that we would never
even go [Eb] and the things that we have never, ever tried and never will.
[Cm] I think the world
is fully aware right now [Eb] of what we are against, but I don't think they know really what we're
for.
[F] [Gm]
I [F] [Eb] think the world's getting the wrong story [Bb] from us.
The story they need to hear
is [F] I'm a train wreck and [Gm] I'm a believer now and I'm still a dork.
[F] And somehow Jesus [Bb] is
loving me through it.
He pulled me out of the [Bb] pit.
He saved my life and He stays with
me and He never gives up on me and He can do that for you.
I don't see how the world
would turn away from that message.
[F] So maybe they're just not hearing it enough.
