[A] Taking a look ahead to this week's Super Tuesday primaries, focusing on the votes in Texas and Florida.
And we'll hear the music of CeCe Winans.
[Gm] But first [Gb] we have this news this morning.
Grammy Award winner CeCe [G] Winans has spent the past decade spreading the gospel, or should I say singing the gospel, with her brother Bebe Winans.
Right now though, CeCe [Gbm] Winans is taking on some solo projects.
[Bm] You can see and hear CeCe [Em] with Whitney [Bm] Houston on their duet song, Count on Me, [Em] which is from the hot-selling Waiting to [D] Exhale soundtrack.
It's just been released as a single.
[A] She also has her first solo album out [Eb] called Alone in His Presence, which just won a Grammy.
Joining us this morning, CeCe Winans.
Congratulations on the Grammy.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Good going.
And I know that you and your brother have won a number of Grammys for your past performances and albums, but this is the [D] first Grammy you've won on your own.
Yes, my first solo album and won a Grammy, so.
Not bad.
Not bad.
What were some of the challenges though of doing your first solo album?
First of all, just standing alone.
Always thinking Bebe's going to be on the right-hand side, thinking his voice is going to creep in here somewhere.
But I had a good time though, getting a chance to express myself as a single person.
And one of the relationship between you and your brother, there are some rumors, work together again.
No, no, no.
I'm stuck with them.
What can I say?
We'll both do solo projects, but we plan to go back in the studio again too.
Just exploring what you can do on your own.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
We want to do a lot of things separately as well.
And tell me about working with Whitney Houston.
That must have been exciting.
Oh, yes, yes.
First of all, she's a dear friend, and I just think she's one of the best female vocalists that I've ever heard out there.
So it was an honor to work with her and Babyface as well.
Well, and Whitney Houston's background is gospel as well.
Yes, it is.
Her mother is a well-known gospel singer.
And what are you going to sing for us today?
Well, me and my wonderful producer, I even have my producer here today.
One of them.
So you're not solo.
No, I'm not.
Cedric Carwell, we're going to do a little bit of, [E] what are we doing?
Every Time, and He's Always There.
Great.
All right.
Cece Winans.
