Start Jamming...
Alright, we're going to start [E] out real simple.
[Eb] This is part 2 cigar box guitar for extreme
beginners.
This is for the non [Bb]-player.
[N]
Hopefully you've already watched video 1 and you have
your guitar properly set up and tuned to G.
[G] Three [F] string cigar box guitar in 12th.
And
I'm going to relate to these in the numbers that they are.
[Bb] [Eb]
[E] Then the 5th and the 3rd.
And
the [B] reason why is because the further you go up the neck the clicks get together on
a [Gb] guitar.
[G] Ok, so this is our G.
[Bb]
Our A sharp is the 3rd fret.
[C] Our B is the 5th.
That's
all we're going to use outside of the 12th.
[Bb] This song is a basic [Eb] blues thing.
You can
kind of think of it as a [A] million other blues tunes but this one [Gb] pretty much stays in one
key.
It's called Bad to the Bone.
Now when you're using your slide, whatever kind you
use, you don't push the strings all the way down.
[G] All you do is push it hard enough [Bb]
to
make it sound.
You just want to make it sound.
You don't want [Eb] to press it down to the wood.
And I find that when I'm sliding to a note I always like to start a little below and
come into it.
That way it sounds cleaner and it gives you a little bit of room for mistake.
So like if I'm going to the 5th fret for a note, I'm still [C]
[Eb] hitting the 5th like that
[B]
To play Bad to the Bone, we're going to go 5th, then we're going to go open, then we're
going to go 3rd, then we're going to go open, [G] [Bb]
[G] open, 5th, open, [Bb]
3rd, open.
[Bb] [Gm]
[G] [Bb]
[G] [Bb]
Hope you're getting this.
[Gm] [G] Open, 5th, [Bb] 3rd.
[Gm]
And [G] then to add a little color, you've always got your 12th dot to add a little color.
