Come on in, Bob.
Be great, Gerald Wolfe.
Come on, let him know you love him.
Hey, buddy.
Love you, buddy.
I know you like his songwriting pretty good, don't you?
Do I like his songwriting?
Nobody in this building and nobody watching tonight would ever have heard of me if it
hadn't been for his songwriting.
That's the truth.
Wow.
Because he wrote my hit.
Wow.
Yeah.
He wrote the hit.
Not my hit.
Just one.
When was this?
That was in 1987.
That's right.
Yes, sir.
And I was a piano player for the Cathedral Quartet and we were getting ready to do an
album with the London Symphony and he sent this song to Larry Goss, our producer, and
wanted the Cathedrals to record it.
He'd actually written it for someone else.
I think he actually wrote it for Larnell originally.
Yeah.
And Larnell Harris passed on it.
And so they brought it to us and Glenn and George thought it was too contemporary for them.
And so Larry Goss said, let the piano player sing it.
That's true.
Good idea.
Yeah.
So I didn't like it either.
So Larry said, go out, take the demo and go sit in my car until you learn to like it.
Well, he had a Jaguar.
So I drove around in his car for three or four hours trying to like that song.
But I've been doing it ever since.
You know, the Lord really used that.
Who knew?
I mean, who knew that?
That, you know, I sang it for two years there.
And then after I left, Scott Fowler came along and he kept on singing it for 10 years up
until they retired.
It was it was still their most popular song.
Wow.
For all those years.
And we still sing it every night.
And Scott Fowler still sings it every night with Legacy Five.
So that's quite a quite a legacy you've given us, Phil.
All glory to God.
It is.
It is glory to God.
But he worked through you.
Yeah.
Thank the Lord.
God uses people.
Yes, he does.
And he certainly used you to be an instrument in our ministry.
That's so kind.
Thank you.
I mean, it is a great.
You want to hear this song?
You want to do it?
I got a surprise for you.
Greater Vision is going to sing it.
But I got Scott Fowler to come down tonight and he's going to help.
Yeah.
Come on out, Scott.
