I describe my sound like, [Gm] _ my music is [A] mainly pop, but it's very [Dm] jazz-influenced and electro-influenced,
[Gm] and we have a few [A] R&B vibes, [Dm] but I usually just write my songs [Eb] _ on the piano, [A] so I sing.
They usually start off [Dm] as ballads, really, and then I work with my band [Gm] and my producer,
and we sort of [F] play around with the [D] songs and give them [Dm] _ _
modern touches and play around
[G] with them, and we just have fun, and [A] that's how we develop that sound, but really, all
of my songs just start [Dm] off as ballads, and [Gm] they grow into [A] something a little bit different
after, [Dm] but that's why I love playing my songs [Gm] acoustically as well, just piano and vocals,
[A] because that's how I first [Dm] wrote them, usually, _ _ so [Gm] that's how we figured out the sound.
So [A] we just released a new EP [Dm] called Main Girl _ that [Gm] has a bunch of new tracks, and we're
super [A] excited to release new music, [Dm] _ and so we were working on that for [Gm] _ a few months,
[A] well, actually for a few years, [Dm] and we released it a month ago, and [Gm] now we're touring with
Nick Murphy, [A] _ _ we're [Dm] finishing a two-month-long tour, going [Gm] back home to Montreal in a _
[A] week
and a half, and then we're [Dm] just going to go back to the studio and work on the full-length
album, _ [Gm] so there's going to [A] be some songwriting [Dm] time and studio time, and keep on [Gm] working
on the show, [G] develop it a [A] little bit more, and just [Dm] create new music. _
My favorite saying in French [Gm] is,
Il ne faut pas bruster [A] le temps, which [Dm] means, you shouldn't try to rush time, [Gm] and you just
have to let things [A] be and let time [Dm] _ heal most things, and I really believe in that, I think
people [Gm] are in a hurry all the time, [A] and I think we have to let [Dm] time _ soothe our wounds
and [Gm] just repair everything.
