What's up guys today's lesson is going to be cheap thrills by Sia.
This has been requested [C#] like crazy
And it's [F] a super easy song to play so let's go ahead and jump in.
Alright so this [N] tutorial is going to have a super
Simple four chord progression that repeats throughout the entire song so we have a capo here on the second fret and we are [G#] in standard
Tuning.
Alright so our first chord is going to be an E [F#m] minor
[G#] Next up we have a C major, [D]
[A] a G major, and our [Em] final chord is a D [E] major
Alright on to [D#] strumming.
I have three different patterns that I'm going to show you.
Alright the first pattern [D#] is super simple
This is actually what I like using in the verses, and it's just a down strum
[F#m]
[F#] Alright now moving on to the pre-chorus.
That's where the [D#] beat kind of starts kicking in so I like to do this
[F#m]
[A] [E]
So it's some strumming mixed with a little bit of palm muting in there, so we [F#m] have up
Mute mute down so that's the entire pattern and it just repeats and to mute just use the side of your palm here
Just [D#] to hit down on the string so up mute mute down up mute mute [G#m] down
We're gonna switch chords so [F#m] up mute mute down [Bm] up mute mute down
Up [A] mute mute down up mute [E] mute down.
[A] Alright now as far as the chorus [B] pattern goes it's gonna pick [G#] up a lot more
So this [Fm] pattern might be a little bit of a [Dm] challenge to you if you [E] can't do this one at first
I'll give you an alternative that you can do but [E] for those of you that want to take up the challenge here we go so it's
[F#m] So
[D] [A]
[E] the best that I can explain [N] is that it's one strumming pattern that you played twice between four chords
So each time that you play the string pattern you're gonna split it between two chords because it's the whole pattern is
Down down down [G#] down up down up down [D#] down down up, but you split it between two chords
So just pay close attention.
I'll take it kind of slow for you [F#m] guys
down down
Down up [D] down up down down down [A] up down down down
[E] Down up down up down down down up now
If you find that that strumming [F] pattern is a bit too [N] challenging for you at the moment
You can just do kind of a modified strumming pattern or a [B] substitute pattern.
You can just do
[F#m] down down down down [D] up down down down down up [A] or down down down down [E] down down down down
[F#]
Either way whichever one works for [G#] you.
Alright guys, that's it for chords and for strumming now before we actually play through the song
I just want to let you guys know that I have a printable lesson available for cheap thrills
So if you're somebody that needs a physical copy in front of you
That has the lyrics and the chords above the [D] lyrics where they change and maybe [A#] you don't want to come [D#] back to this video like a
Thousand [E] times I offer them on my [A] patreon page down below
[B] It's basically just a $3 tip each [E] month to access all of my core tutorials that help support my career
So that [F#] way I can keep continuing [F] to make these lessons for you guys.
Help me help you
[F#m] Come on, come on, turn [D] the video [A] on
It's Friday night [E] and I won't be long
[F#m] Gotta do my hair, put [D] my makeup [A] on
It's Friday night [E] and I won't be long
Till [F#m] I hit the dance [D] floor, hit the dance [A] floor
I got all [E] I need
[F#m] No, I ain't got cash
[D] I ain't got cash
[A] I got you [E] baby
[F#m] Baby, I don't [D] need no cash
I don't need dollar bills [A] to have fun [E] tonight
[F#m] Baby, I don't [D] need dollar bills [A] to have fun [E] tonight
[F#m] I don't [D] need no
[A] money
[E]
[F#m] As long as [D] I can feel [A] the beat
[E]
[F#m] I don't need [D] no
[A] money
[E]
[F#m] As long as [D] I can
[A] dance
I don't need no money
As long as I can [E] sing
Come on, come on, [D] turn the video [A] on Alright, awesome!
So that's how you play the entire [Bm] song
So you just take that four [A] chord progression
And you [D] apply it to the next verse, chorus, the bridge, and the outro of the [Bm] song Super easy!
[B] If you like this tutorial, don't forget to give it a huge thumbs up
To show [A] some [D] appreciation that you learned something

You can just do
[F#m] down down down down [D] up down down down down up [A] or down down down down [E] down down down down
