Our band Chingon is [F] taking old classic mariachi tunes that we've always [A] loved, it's part of our heritage.
I [F] remember our grandmother playing with, it's not like, [Eb] this term, it would make them cool.
So [Ebm] we took Malagueña, [Fm] I remember, we're actually making El Mariachi.
I would be at a restaurant, Carlos and I would go to, every [F] night I'd call a costado or something like that.
There was [C] a trio, a mariachi [Bb] trio, and I would always request [Db] Malagueña Salarosa.
It has [Eb] such a cool, [Eb] amazing structure.
The best part is when the guy is just playing around, he has to hold a note for a long time.
You don't know if he's going to get through [F] it.
It creates this amazing tension.
I thought, that would be an amazing, done as a rock song.
I wrote it into the script for this rock, and then we got to record it.
I didn't get to record it even once [Abm] upon a time in Mexico, even though that song shows up a lot, that we'll show footage [Bb] from.
It wasn't until we finally made our [F] Chingonized version that Quentin used it at the end credits.
He built to it.
You can see how it was used.
It [D] had a great effect.
Our version, now we're going to play to Once Upon a Time in Mexico.
You'll see images from the parking back to El Mariachi, [Abm] like the bus and the swinging down.
This [G] is one of my favorites.
