_ _ _ _ Oh, praise the Lord.
You know, it was about 1970 that I got saved and around 1985 I think it was,
I, well actually more like in 1982, I began to see a blank look on people's
faces when I'd be describing my past and I'd talk about the group Love Song, you
know, I'd say, they don't know what I'm talking about, you know, and recently, in recent years, I've
noticed a new plateau that people seem to look at me with a blank stare when I
mention the Jesus Movement, you know, times they are a-changing, as Bob Dylan said, but you know, the
point is that back in that day, what drove the music, what drove all of us, all the
artists on the stage tonight, was a zeal for souls.
You know, we had a lot of zeal, very little
knowledge.
I knew two things back then.
I once was blind and now I could see and
Jesus loves me, this I know, and that was about it, you know, _ _ but we got out there and we did it and in the, you know, the 1980s came the teaching movement and we got all really
cerebral about the whole thing, but we lost a lot of the zeal and my prayer is to bring that
combination of knowledge back with some of that zeal of the early, early 70s and see another Jesus Movement.
But this song I'm gonna, my second song here tonight is a song that we used to call a pre-altar call song.
We would share this song, then preach the gospel and then bring in the net, as we used to say, so it's my pleasure to share with you tonight a song called Little Pilgrim. _

[A] _ _ _ [D] Little pilgrim, [A] walking down the road of life, [Em] I find that in your heart you're [G] just a lonely one, [D] for you see, _ upon that very road, _ [Em] my search for good and truth had its beginning.
[A] _
[D] You take a little turn to [G] the left and [D] you see what that path has to offer you, _ [Em] then you gotta make it back to the main road anyhow, [A] _ [Em] and you have all that lost time to make up for.
_ [A] _ [D] It's a sad thing [A] _ [Bm] to realize [A] that [Em] you're all alone, _ that you're on your own _ [D] again.
_ _ _ _ _ [G] _ [D] Little pilgrim, walking [A] down the road of life, _ [Em] can't you see that there are so many others and [G] they are just like you?
[A] _ [D] I was looking in [G] that same direction, _ [Em] but all I ever found were others and they [G] were searching just like [A] me.
[D] And we didn't find the way [G] or the answers _ [Em] to the questions that were buried deep down in [G] our souls.
[A] _ [D] We just found that the ways of men have [G] no answers _ _ [D]
anyhow.
_ _ _ Don't _ _ _ you wonder [Em] now [A] what you're trying [D] to do?
_ Oh, _ [G] don't you wonder now [Bm] where [A] that path has [D] taken _ you? _ _
_ Little pilgrim, _ [A] walking down the road of life, _ [Em] I know that deep down in your heart [A] that you are just like me. _
[D] What you're seeking is [G] a better way, _ [Em] and you're reaching out for temporary resting places.
[A] _ _
And you're [D] glad to find a little peace of [G] mind here and there. _
[D] But it won't last, no, no, because you'll have to [G] move along someday,
till [Em] you're resting in the arms of the only [A] one who can help you,
_ [Em] till you give your heart, your soul, your body, your [A] mind, your very life to [D] the Lord.
_ _ _ _ [G] And [D] it's a glad thing [A] _ [Bm] to realize [F#m] that [Em] you're not alone no more,
[A] that you've found your way [D] back _ _ _ _ _ _ _ [G]
home. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
