Earlier today I was doing some laundry.
I put stuff in the wash and then I came back down and I went to check on it later for the_
to see if it needed to go in the dry air and I was like, wait a minute.
I've been here before.
Which I remember playing here, but I didn't remember that room.
And then I remembered that the last time I was here.
This is going to be a little bit of a long-winded story and I apologize,
but I think there's a pretty good payoff. _
I was on tour for a record called Little Hell back then
and I had gotten this email from my friends.
They're like, we got this DJ, they're looking for some emotional vocals.
Just to give you a little insight into the world of electronic music.
So I started trying to write some words over this dance song
and I kept sending ideas back to the guy and he kept going like,
yeah, that's pretty good, but try this.
I'm like, all right, you know.
Part of the reason why I usually just write songs by myself.
_ So finally it gets to a point where he likes it.
And [F#] they're like, can you record it?
And I'm like, well, I'm on [G] tour, I'm in Fredericton.
So my friend Carl, who's with me, is right over there.
We go upstairs into an office up there.
And we put up some blankets and we [E] put a microphone and I record the [G] vocals.
Don't hear anything for like a week.
And then finally there's like, kind of missed the [D#] timeline,
we're not going to use that song anymore.
