Clawhammer G Lick Roll EASY LESSON chords
Start Jamming...
[G]
Well that's what I came up with.
There's a little bit more there than what the lady's doing in that traditional G lick [N] and using the traditional thumb index middle banjo roll.
She [G] starts out on the third string and then she hits the first string and then she hits the fifth string.
So that stays the same.
Index on the third, first, index and then the fifth on the third.
The second part, we're going to do the third string.
We're going to start off with a slide from the second fret to the third fret on the third string.
Then we're going to go down and hit the first string.
[Bm] So instead of coming back and hitting the third string [Gm] again, I'm doing a drop down with my thumb, a drop thumb on the second string open.
[B] So the second part of the lick is, [Gm] third string index, slide from the second to the third fret.
[G] Then the first string open, second string open with the drop thumb.
Then I'm going to hammer on my fourth string second [D] fret.
[E] [Bm] Then I'm going to come back and get my first again.
[G]
[E] Hammer on the fourth string, second fret.
Then [G] first with the index, second with the thumb and then the third string again open with the index.
[E] [G] I think that's kind of the roll that you're talking about.
I don't know.
That's the first part.
Third string open, first string open, fifth string.
Slide second to third on the third string.
Index, drop thumb, second string open.
[Bm] Then we're going to come up and we're going to hit the hammer on on the second fret fourth string.
[E]
[Gm] Then we're going to go [G] first string open.
Second string, going to drop down with the thumb.
[Bm] Come back and catch [G] the third with our index.
I hope that helps.
I think that's what you're talking about.
If not, email me and I'll try to put something else up.
Happy playing.
