[E] You know I gotta say first that the whole countdown awards thing it was a bit of a joke to us
You know it was more tongue-in-cheek than it [C] as it was count
You know I mean the fact that you know [B] people get up there and mime which is for us was alien
You know [F] that's why bands like the oils that [A#] had running battles with them all the time because they didn't want to get there
You know and mime and try and look pretty you know we were about playing live
So you know I think coaches are the only times we were on [G#] there
I sang live, but we were really pissed off because we wanted to get up there and play live so countdown
[G] Represented something to us.
It was [E] foreign, [F#] and it was shouldn't have been part of the industry although
Once again in you know 2020 hindsight it did a hell of a lot for the country and helped promote a lot of music in
[Fm] This country you know we said running battles of Molly the whole time
But you know I can sit back now and safely say that Molly [C] probably
Done more for Australian industry than a lot of people than most people
[N] I am now I mean it's near the end of the show
And I'm very worried because like we haven't seen cultures of it all and it says on the back of this pricewaterhouse
[A#] Underline after seven days, [G#m] please return to pricewaterhouse.
I mean they are here aren't [Gm] they?
I hope so we can't carry it all home.
Thank you [G] very much.
Thank you everyone
So [N] when we went when we did East it sold sold that many copies was that popular
We knew that we were gonna clean up these awards, and we thought it was just a good point
It's you know place to make a stand and just let them know that you know hey
Where were you you know so I gave you your old guys going here's your awards
We love this band when when four years earlier
We couldn't get on the show if we wanted to you know we couldn't get on we couldn't get on countdown two years earlier
You know and with the dead it was pushed around and boss around like a bunch of kids by these people who knew nothing about
What we were doing so and TV week you know they put your picture in and then they think you own them something
I got that you know so we basically we wrote we did my turn to cry which is one of my songs
We stuck in a rehearsal room and um and we changed up slightly
You know to change that the breakdown in the middle we changed it and win it another song
Which we said you know where we even were struggling maybe you were in the large fear hotel
Where were you were starving to death you know and now you want to use it to sell TV weeks up yours
I'll eat this you know
And that's basically what we said, but at the same time although that was quite serious.
It was
It was virtually just a laugh.
We were we're like kids no kid
We finished that we ran out the back straight out the back door
We're just [A] cackling ourselves into the [G] car and left [B] and [A] we threw up our own party down the road
We [E] wouldn't we [A] boycotted the countdown party, and I [G] think everybody came to [F] our party and in the end even Molly came to our party man
