[G] [D#] [G] Hello!
Today I'm going to be [B] showing you how to play The Clash's Complete [E] Control.
And because my sound system is being used to record my album,
[B] I'm actually using the very first electric guitar and amp I ever bought.
And it actually gives a really brilliant old-fashioned [E] 7-inch single sound.
To [N] start with, you play an E power chord, which [E] is 7 on the A,
and a [G] 9 on the D and the G.
[E]
[N] Then you play a single note, which is 6 on the D,
[G#] [E] and back to the E.
The [N] second part is the E power chord again, [E] with the same rhythm.
[F#] But then you play the same chord, but with only your first [N] finger,
which is 9th fret of the D, [E] G and B.
[A#] And then on the B string, you hammer on and pull off from the 10th fret back [A] to the 9th.
[G#] [E] All together.
[B] [E]
[N] E verse has the same flow as the intro, with slightly different chords.
You start off with that E power chord again, and add the 6th fret on the [E] D.
But then you [B] go to a B major power chord, which is 7th fret on the E,
and [F] 9 on the [B] A and the D.
And back to the E [E] again.
So that's E, [B] B,
[F#] [E] E.
[C#m] [A] [B]
[E] [D#] OK, the [N] chorus is basic chords, or you could just play the root notes, however you feel.
You play a C sharp [C#m] minor to [A] an A, [E]
to a [B] B, to [E] an E, to a [C#m] C sharp minor to [A] A,
and then to two [B] bars of B.
[N] Now from there you go to the second verse, second chorus, and [E] now you're into the solo.
[Em]
[E] The first part of the solo goes like this.
[D] [G] [N]
You just play the basic rock and roll bending patterns,
where you place your first finger on the 12th fret of the B [Em] in the E,
[Bm] and then play 14th fret on the G.
[N] Then of course you bend the G string up, and then strum the [Em] bottom two strings.
And you play it in this pattern.
Then you go into the next part, which is [A] [Gm]
[Em] played, you hit the 12th on the B in the E,
and on the [A] G string you go 14, [G] 12, [A#] 14, [D#] [G] and then hit the B in the E string again, which is played.
[A]
[Em] [D#] [E] Then you play that again, but this time go [F#] 14, 12, [A] 14, 12.
[G] [E] So first time round is 12.
[A] [Em] [A] [G]
Altogether slowly it sounds like [C#m] this.
[A]
[Em] [A] [G] [N]
Then you go straight into the high bends, which are 15 on [Gm] the B,
slide up to the [A] 17th, [Bm] and on the 19th fret bend all the way [E] up,
[C#] hit the 19th on the E, [N] and then 19 on the B again.
[C] [B] Then you bend all the way up three times, release, [A#] and 17 on the [Em] B.
[C#] So that [G] all together.
[Bm]
[Em]
[N] Then basically the rest is just big bends on the 19th fret [D] again.
You bend up, [E] [B]
[Em] [E]
and then to finish you go [C#] on the G string from the 7 [E] to the 9.
[F#] Coming out of the solo you have another verse, another chorus,
and [B] now you're into the breakdown section.
[A] [C#m]
Which [B] is again just basic bar chords.
You have a B major, [A] down to an A, to a big [C#] C sharp minor.
[F#] To [D] a D, to [A] an A, [E] to an E.
This
[B] [A] [C#m]
[D] [A] [E]
[C#] repeats several times, and over the top of that you have this main lead guitar [A] part.
[A#] [E]
[A] [A#] [E]
[Bm] It's basically the same four notes over and over again.
You have this riff where you go from 10 on the B, pull off to 9 on [G#m] the B,
[E] and then with the same finger, struck the 9 on the G string.
[A] And repeat that.
And then you bend the 10 on the B all the way up to the 12th fret.
[Bm] Bend down, and continue playing the same [A] riff.
[D] [A] [E]
[A] [A#] [E]
[N] You just keep bending and repeating the same part over and over again.
OK, to end the song you have an entire measure of the E major [E] chord.
[C] [N] Thank you for watching this video.
