Crowded House, beaming down on all of us.
Who wrote this stuff?
Tim Finn has joined his brother Neil with Paul Hester and Nick Seymour
to become a permanent member of one of the most extraordinary Australian bands.
In fact, international bands.
It could well lead to their most successful period ever.
Why, may you ask?
Well, watch and enjoy this unique get-together between the new Crowded House and Brad Robinson.
[G]
History never repeats.
History never repeats.
[Am] In the night [Em] it's all [G] so clear.
[A] Once they were five.
[C] And now, [Gm] and now, we're all [Eb] through [Cm] this.
[Ab] Then they were three.
[Am] And I have another piece of chocolate [D] cake.
And now they [G] are four.
Is [Am] it difficult for history to repeat itself?
To bring Tim back and [D] to release a song with [Gb] chocolate cake in its [G] title?
No, no chance.
I thought it was ridicule.
Shunned.
No, no, not at [Em] all.
We've got this deal on paper.
And [D] Tim's had to buy into the [G] company.
And it's cost [C] him $333 to buy into the Crowded House touring ink.
And he's now a secretary.
[G] That sort of stuff.
Brothers' roles.
You know, older [A] brother, younger brother.
It took a while to get [G] past all that, I think.
To where we were sort [Ab] of equals and able to just not be vulnerable,
not be trying to protect any position, just be totally open with each other.
And that sort of finally happened about a year ago, and we wrote 15 songs in two weeks.
And when we wrote them, we had to put them [E] aside very awkwardly
while we moved on to the Crowded House project.
And it just felt weird.
And it felt like we were being very restrictive on ourselves,
having two categories [B] to create it all of a sudden.
Finn Brothers and [Eb] Crowded House.
[E] Now it's a lot more [G] integrated.
It feels a lot more relaxed.
And Tim started playing with us, and it felt like a band.
It felt actually a little bit
It feels more contained.
Like more
It's smaller in a way.
Tighter.
There's more of us, [D] but, you know.
Better now.
And Tim for you.
Oh, shit!
Sorry, mate!
Oh, hell.
Sacked.
You're sacked, Neil.
Sorry.
[Ab] Now you've done it, Neil.
Good on you.
He knows a bit sensitive today.
He's a moody.
[G] Sorry, Brady.
We want to talk about affection.
Are [E] we going to sack him tonight, yeah?
Yeah, but [N] anyway
Do you guys want to have a band meeting?
No, I don't think I need to do it.
Don't tell him.
Not you.
Yeah, oh, it's great.
Three piece, four piece.
Four piece, two piece, one piece.
[G] Hair piece.
[B] Is it good? Thank [Am] you.
[C]
[Am] [Em]
[E] For you especially, it must be
That whole band thing, getting back [Ab] into a band thing
rather than a solo thing must be
It must feel [C] tremendous for you.
It's a great relief.
I mean, [Ab] to be part of
I bumped into old Steve Cummings the other night
and he was [G] talking to me about it.
He was just saying,
gee, it must be pretty good to be just part of something, you know?
[F] And you do feel that thing of
You bump into other solo artists around the world
and you kind of were all wandering [Ab] around being solo,
[A] oh it's so serious, you know, [G] yes I wrote that song
when I was, and you kind of, but, oh God.
You're [Ab] back, I'm back.
I'm back.
My water ran out [G] too, Brad, sorry.
Good morning, darling.
It's so glamorous.
Go on.
Ginny Little, let's step aside.
I'll talk to you later.
It's a tremendous relief, you know,
I mean this, yeah, you know,
[E] I wouldn't be doing this if [D] I was on [G] my own.
[A] I know.
Hey guys, we're on the road,
[D] Empty bed, [A] car's shooting by
with [D] no number plate.
[Em] Here comes Mrs.
Hairy [Am] Legs.
I can't stop.
I'm really sorry, [Gm] good morning, sir.
[E] I've gotta go out there.
I've pooed my pants.
