Lee to tell us how they felt the tour went.
The first show we did over here I was like,
well for one thing I was still getting over the jet lag, we all were just basically in la-la land
so to speak.
A couple hours of sleep and that was about it.
So I was up there on the stage and even
though we had a lot of people there and they were all attentive, it was hard for me to focus because
I just didn't have my feet yet.
But even that, I could see that the people, everyone at the gig was
paying attention and there for the music.
And after we got through playing it was a really
enthusiastic crowd of a mixture of 30 year olds to 17 year olds.
It was all mixed up.
And after
the show we got through playing and I noticed that they were playing everything from Bad Company to
Motorhead and the kids danced and sang along with everything.
I was thinking, now you would never
see that in the States where a 17 year old kid would be out there singing along to Can't Get
Enough of Your Love.
They don't even know about that stuff in the States.
So there seems to be
more of a sense of tradition here.
More of a respect for music as an art form, not just what's
the flavor of the month or whatever.
Everyone we talk to seems to know [A] much more than the average
person where we come from about music and it's who played [A] what and the history of it and everything.
It's really impressive.
[B] Because it's, you know, your influences are there.
I mean, you don't pull
music out of thin air.
You see a lot of bands that sound like a lot of other bands these days
that try to run away from that too.
And so we don't sound anything like that, you know,
wrong, X, next, you know, paying customer.
Because you can't deny your influences.
You have to be very,
you know, forthright and honest.
And if we're not anything else, if this band is nothing else,
we're honest, you know.
And certainly, you know, we sound like certain bands in certain respects.
But
people tend to listen to one or two tracks, pick up on one thing and put that under the microscope.
And that's all that you hear about rather than, you know, listening to the whole album.
And you
don't even have to give it like a really hard listen, just a precursory listen.
But just listen
to all the songs.
This is hype may sell, may help sell a record.
But I don't as far as I'm concerned,
when somebody starts jumping up and down going, this is great, this is great.
I mean, it's almost
surely going to be crap.
I mean, as far as you know, I mean, if it's not somebody that's like
a friend of mine, you know what I mean?
Like if the press and MTV and everybody is touting this
thing is the next, you know, huge thing, then chances are, you know, I'm thinking, well,
why do they need all this hype?
You know, why do they have to have it?
Just, you know, if it floats, it floats.
