So, and my favorite song is You'll Never Leave Harlem Alive, which is an awesome song.
Patty Loveless and Brad Paisley recorded that, but he's been the ASCAP Songwriter of the Year, the NSAI Songwriter of the Year.
And to me, he's what songwriter, he's a true artist, and he's what new song is all about.
And it's my great pleasure to present Darryl Scott.

This next [N] song is a song that I put on a record with Tim O'Brien.
He and I made a record in my living room, just the two of us playing.
We called it Real Time, because we played it in real time, no overdubs or solos later or anything.
We just kind of played it like Tim and I do when we get [G] together.
[N] And anyway, it turns out I had a song recorded by the Dixie Chicks, like their second album.
And anyway, I think the girls had this CD because they recorded two songs off this record that Tim and I did.
They got one of his called More Love, which is a great song of Tim's.
And then they did [C] this song.
And I was [Abm] really pleased
[G] that they really [N] had a pretty good hit with it.
And the last verse, they sort of ran it up the charts before country music or country radio figured out what the last verse was about,
which was sort of about them a little bit, about how they sort of don't play the great old country music stuff anymore.
Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard and Hank Williams and all that [G] good stuff.
So it was a [N] little commentary there, but somehow it made it into the big charts, even sort of making those comments.
And I was really proud of this [G] song getting in there.
It's called Long Time Gone.
