Hey, what's going on?
Ryan here with Intersection Records.
I just got done listening to the new David Gilmore
song Dark and Velvet Nights.
It came out today.
The album that's gonna be it's gonna be [A] on is gonna be called Luck and Strange.
It comes out on September 6th of
2024.
This follows
two singles that he's already released.
One back in April called The [Cm] Piper's Call and [Bb] then
in June he released Between Two Points which features his daughter on [E] vocals.
There's a music video that I'll put in the link in the description here to that
music video.
There's some Hammond organ.
There's some strings here.
There's some real cinematic stuff going on.
Some stuff that reminds me of Pink Floyd.
Some stuff that reminds me of
David Gilmore era Pink Floyd like Division Bell.
He's playing a Gibson ES-335.
Steve Gadd, legendary drummer, is shown in the video playing drums
hanging out in the studio.
He does a guitar solo on again this Gibson ES-335
from the 3 minute and 41 second mark to the end of the song.
It's almost a one minute long guitar solo.
Really nice playing if you like David Gilmore, and if you're watching this video
I'm sure you do like David Gilmore.
His signature guitar sound is just breathtaking.
This song is good.
Maybe it's not the strongest arranged song, but more than the other two previous songs, it's more Pink Floyd.
It's more kind of this
urban rock sound
uptown.
You know a little bit of LA in it, a little bit of jazz in it.
During his guitar solo
there's some strings that remind me of Night Fever maybe kind of off of Saturday Night Fever.
Check out my channel.
Check out the brand new song by David Gilmore, Dark and Velvet Nights.
Again,
there's a video in the description.
