Hi it's day 45 for Patty Kusterov's 365 Days of Fiddle Tunes and in Winnipeg
this is Festival de Voyageur time.
It's my favorite time of the year.
It's a
great winter [Em] festival, French Canadian festival in the heart of the coldest
time of the year here in Winnipeg and it's just lots of fun.
We played at
noon, we did a show at the place called the Sugar Shack in Voyageur Park and it
was a blast and Jeremy and I along with Lionel DeJarles played and every
year for Festival I think of one of the great Cajun players that used to come
out every year.
He's since passed away.
It's a huge loss to the music world.
Happy Castile has been coming since I remember and one year he brought along a
young whippersnapper by the name of Louis Darby who played second fiddle with
him during his shows and Louis and I jammed and did some shows together while
he was out here and he taught me a tune, a Cajun tune and it's probably still the
only Cajun tune that I know.
So we're gonna do a Cajun fiddle.
I'll send it out to
Louis Darby who's in Branson Missouri Missouri right now.
One, two, three.
