Hey y'all
When you think of the
cursed bands of rock and roll
You know, you got your all my brothers.
You got your skinnered bad fingers definitely on the list just [D] terrible terrible story, but
Some great [F] pop songs in there [Gm] if you're a fan of like big star and the raspberries that kind [Bb] of
early 70s [F] pop
[Gb] The [F] bad finger kind of set the tone
[G] So let's do [F] day after day one of the better ones in my opinion and
[Gb] George produce it just listen to the production of this thing setting aside the [N] guitar lesson
But just listen to it
it's just produced so beautifully and and
George should have gotten a Grammy just for just for the drum [G] sound that he got on this amazing.
But anyway
Let's go through it.
There's an [Eb] acoustic guitar strumming underneath it.
So it's tuned up a half a step
[C] So you can put a capo on the first [Bb] fret
It's not played in standard tuning pitch in F.
Pretty sure it's not
[Gb] [Bb] To me it doesn't sound like there's a capo because when you put a capo on it sort of changes the tension
The way the strings are blocked
And it just is a different tone sometimes for the better
brighter
[A] But other times [F] a true open string ringing out and that's what this sounds like when you hear the guitar
Is what you want?
So I tuned up a half step to do with each so [Bbm]
[F] it's not just the sound of that that
[Bb] And I think a halfway through or the second verse there might be another guitar capo doing completely different course, [C] but this is the main one
So [B] in the key of F, but I'm gonna call it
[F]
[Bb] [F]
[Bb] [Bb] [F] So that's E [Bb] and then A suspend the B at 3 down to a regular A
[F] And [Bb] that that is the thing that tells me that they they tuned up
[G] [Gb] Because you could
[G] [Gb] If you were say you're playing it at
[B] See, [N] it's hard to get the suspension without also getting the seventh note in there on the high E string
In fact if you watch and listen to
Pete Townsend live, you know back during the glory days of the late 60s and 70s
He did that an awful lot
Would would suspend B or whatever
chord but often most of the
He'd suspended up, but he also hit that high because there's no way [C] around it really
[Bb]
But anyway, it doesn't [C] sound like there
[Gb] It doesn't sound like because [B] [Gb]
[B] it is impossible to do that
[Gb] And still get [Dm] that in there.
I mean [B] you could do
[Gb] [B]
But that's not [F] what he's doing
Is this so a [Bb]
[F] couple of these?
[Bb] [F]
[Bb] Oh
[C] Be
[G] That's sharp
And then you walk down and now if you want to do your you actually if you're just
[Bb] Really beginner I guess but you can do cowboy chords down here and you can do bar chords.
[F] This is a good one
Cuz you could do
[Bb] You [F] know what a bar they put it at God [C] and I'll be
[G] half sharp and then [Bb] it's a a
[A] flat minor
[D] [F] F sharp minor E, but I do it, you know a little different
[Bb] [F]
So I bar might be the [C] second fret but I [G] have sharp
[A] [F]
[C] Same thing again
[G]
[Bb] I
[F] [Dm] Right
[F] so that little that's the George [N] Harrison part
But he did play the slide he and Pete
harmonized the slide line so George tended to use standard tuning for
slide a lot of times especially though in those days
And like like my sweet Lord and those those slide parts.
Those are to me.
Those are not an opportunity slide party
He did those tracked [Bb] so he did one line at a time
[F] But anyway back to the lesson
You got me distracted.
So it's
[Dm] [F] And then into another verse [D] so it's e and then this you can leave the low e [Dm] open
A and D at 4g at 2 that's the all things must pass
[F] So it just goes from there [Bb] to the one shape
[F] There's another version
[Bb]
[F] Strum is just pretty simple
[Bb] [F]
Be careful on that a [Bb] back to e because you don't want to do
[F] You don't want you don't want to sound bluesy by
[Bb] Hammering it on so you want to do a pretty clean and you got to think about it [F]
[C] [G]
[A] [F] back to [C] be
F sharp [G] climb down a
[D] minor [F] minor
to
[Dm] The second time through
[F] He goes up two more [G] same shape as that second [F] up two more
[Bb]
The last one is like a bar an egg to take the bar finger off now
[F] you're into the guitar now you're in the guitar song
[Bb]
[G] Same chords as the verses and the only [G] thing at the end is [F] that goes
[Dm] [G]
There
[F]
So it goes it just walks that [Bb] same as you did with those and
[G] But I think it's I think it's done with the B&E open on that
That's the whole tune I think
It's weird with bad finger songs because the day used to be one of those ones
Because they had such weird right if you read their story they had really weird publishing agreement
Turned out really terribly for them in the end
but
So that the [B] copyright and everything it was really tough for a long time.
I think I [F] got a
Cease and desist I think
[Eb]
Or post in one of theirs
On YouTube they were really really straight and you could never find any bad finger on YouTube
But but recently I was just looking earlier today.
That's why I ended up doing this month and
And
There's a bunch of bad finger on there, so I don't know if they figured out some kind of
Settlement or now because it was even hard to buy a big bad finger
Albums like buy a CD or even download or stream of those, but maybe they're loosening up.
I don't know but this one hopefully
