Okay, [E] I'm now going to [Em] show you how I play Day Tripper and Lady Madonna.
[D#] I recorded them for you at the [G] start of this video, but I just kind of performed them as
I probably would on stage.
But now I'd just like to slow it down and show you how it all works.
[A] The way that I worked out Day Tripper, [G] I had this idea of a piano where that [E] part there
would be the right hand on the [A] piano and then [E] the melody.
[B] [Em] [Bm]
[G] That took a fair bit of practice just to get that little bit going.
So you've got to get on [A] the beat going [E] and then with your thumb.
[Bm] [E]
[Bm] [Em] [E]
[Bm] [E] [A]
Now we all know [A] how the melody goes.
It's got a good reason.
So [G] to play the two parts at once takes a lot of practice and you have to start it [E] off really slow.
[Em] [D]
[Bm] [E] [Em] [G]
[Bm] [Am] [G]
[Em] [Bm]
[F#] [E]
[F#] [F#]
[A] [G#]
[C#m] [F#]
[E] [B]
[Bm]
[E] I'll play it one time just at the tempo that I would normally play it for you so you can
see how it all works.
Here we go.

[E] [Bm] [E]
Lady Madonna, [B] I applied exactly the same principles.
I worked out that [G] [A] I had to go [Am]
and find a way of [G#] playing [Am] and [A]
[Am]
[A]
go at the same time.
[Am]
It just took time to work it.
[D] [Am]
[D] [A]
[F] [A]

[Am] So when you've worked it out, the thing to do is to practice each section.
[D] [E] [Am] Practice that [D] [Am] until it sounds like, [D] [Am] then move on.
I like that.
[A]
[D] [Am]
[A] You'll notice every now and [C] again I just kind of anticipate the melody a little bit,
how I think the original [E] vocal had a fair bit of that.

[A] Second section.

Here we go.

[C] [Am]
[B] [D]
[G] [A] [A#]

At the end of it, I break into a kind of [Am] piano funky kind of.

[G] [A]
[G] All that is is [A] the thumb going like [B] that and [A] the fingers.
[Am] [A]
[Am] [A]

it sounds like this.
