Some of you know the song In The Light by DC Talk back when the [E] band
used to be together.
It's a very old song _ _ and I want to kind of give a tutorial of
the song In The Light that used to be a huge hit _ a while back.
So here it
goes.
We're gonna be in the key of E today.
In the key of E.
So what we have
is E major, _ [F#] F sharp, _ _ [G#m] and G sharp minor.
_ And I'll get to the technique [D] that the
guitarist uses in there. _
So it's gonna sound like this.

_ I'm playing an E major, [F#m] F sharp, [G#m] to G
sharp minor.
That's the [Em] verse.

_ [A] _ _ _ _ _ _ [Em] _
_ And what I'm doing there is going from _ _ B to C
sharp, the note on the G string.
[B] So I have _ _ [G#] _ fourth fret to the sixth.
_ _ _ [E] _ _ _ _
_ [F#] _ _ _ _ _ [G#m] _ _
_ _ _ [G#] _ _ _ _
Up down up and _ _ then.
_ So _ _ _ watch.
[E] _ _ _ _ [F#] _ _ _ _
_ [G#m] _ Okay _ [A] _ _ [C#] _
so that's the verse.
Then he gets [E] to the chorus.
I wanna be in [B] the light.
So [E] E _ to [G#] B _ and the F sharp. _ _ _
_ [G#m] _ G sharp minor.
[E] I wanna shine.
_ [B] E and then B _ [A] to F [F#] sharp.
In the _ heavens.
_ _ _ [E] Oh Lord.
