We chose Dead Z for [B] Family Values to be on the Family Values [F#] this year.
They're a really [G#] cool, eclectic band.
People believe that [C] they're a young band starting out, they've been around for [G#] years.
Well, you know, there's ten bands [C#] on this one, you know, and so the [G#] last tour, you know,
I [F#m] think that it still has the same kind of eclectic [C#m] group of bands.
The last tour you had [N] Stone Devil Pilots, you had Stain, you had Linkin Park, you had Static Action, you had us.
So I guess having more bands even, you know, makes that sort of palette even bigger.
You know, this is definitely a [F#m] heavier [C#] rock one than the last one.
This is a little bit [E] more of a sort of bands all lead to the heavier sort of [D#] genre.
I remember first hearing my [E] first Dead Z song when we were doing Life is [Cm] Peachy.
I've been around that long.
There's a lot of this sort of new wave [E] of metal that's sort of come about in the last four years.
They've been really underground and they've influenced a lot of bands.
They've been with [G] 30 Seconds of Mars, My Chemical [F#] Romance.
I mean, there's little changes here and there, but [B] they've influenced some big bands that are out there right now.
I feel like what our job always is when we're [F] putting the context of a lot of these newer bands
is to sort of represent a little [C#] bit of the sort of history of music in [A] terms of, you know,
a lot of the English kind of [C#] post-punk, you know, the Joy Division, the David Bowies,
a lot of the stuff that's going by the wayside in today's music.
[E] They're the real deal.
They have their whole thing, they'll record what's [C] going on.
Each character has their own color, their own thing, it's a whole story, and I think it's a great, great band.
This is a song called Carrying Over.
[Em] [G]
[Em] [G]
[Em] I think about a lonely [G] real world
[Em] What my thoughts are bound, oh I just [G] can't tell
Oh, [F] there's nothing I [Em] wouldn't do to have you now
For [C] only one more [Am] night's bed into your [Em] magic dust
[G] Whoa, [F] oh, don't you know that this [G] thing's real, love
Baby, I'm waiting [F] to go
Don't you know that this [G] thing's real
Baby, I'm waiting [F] to go
And though as far as I [G] can see, love
Baby, I'd really [F] throw
Your heavy charms for broken [G]
deals
[C] To steal those notes from the carousel
[G] We hear those drums and we'll set it sail
[Em] If the beer comes down, then you better start making [F] it right
Cause they might be carrying
[C] We hear those chimes from the wedding bell
[G] And see that sign from the other town
[Em] The DJ's staying on your radio player [F] tonight
Things might be carrying [C] over
[Em] Now to settle down, well that [G] takes some real [Em] work
And if you're drowning your tides, oh, will you wish [G] them the well
We're [F] holding out in a fortress [Em] of mirrors, you know
For [C] only one more [Am] night's bed into your [Em] magic love
Whoa, [F] oh, don't you know that I [G] still feel, love
Baby, I'm [F] coming to you
Don't you know that I [G] still can feel
Baby, I'm [F] coming to you
And as long as [G] I can breathe, love
Baby, will you [F] carry me through
Oh, it was never a question of your [G] frozen [C] heels
To steal those notes from the [G] carousel
We hear those drums and we'll set it [Em] sail
If the beer comes down, then you better start [F] making it right
Cause things might be [C] carrying
We hear those chimes from the wedding [Am] bell
And see that [C] sign from the other town
[Em] The DJ's staying on your radio [F] player tonight

[G] Tell me now, how does it [C] feel?
