[C] In Judea and in Galilee [F] they [Bb] ruled with an [C] iron hand.
And the poor were sick with hunger, and the [F] rich were clothed in [C] splendor.
And the rebels whipped and crucified, [Bb] hung rotting as [C] a warning.
_ And Jesus _ [F] knew the answer given [C] to Caesar.
What [F] is [Bb] Caesar's?
[C] Settle up your enemies.
_ [F] But Judas was a zealot, and he [C] wanted to be free.
[F] Resist, [Bb] he said, the Romans' [C] tyranny.
_ [F] Now Jesus was a conjurer, [Bb] and miracles were [F] his game.
[C] And he fed the hungry thousands, [Fm] and they [Bb] glorified [C] his name.
He cured the lame and the lepers, and he calmed [F] the wind and the [C] weather.
And the wretched flocked to touch him, [Bb] so their troubles [C] would be taken.
_ And Jesus knew [F] the answer.
[C] All you who labor, [F] all you who suffer, _ [Bb] [C] only believe in me.
[F] But Judas sought a [Bb] world where [F] no one starved or [C] begged for bread.
[Fm] The poor are [Bb] always with [C] us, Jesus said.
So stand up, stand [F] up for Judas, [Bb] and the cause that [C] Judas served.
It was Jesus who [F] betrayed the poor with [C] his word.
[F] Now Jesus showed division where none had been before.
Not the [C] slave against the master, [F] but the poor against the [C] poor.
He sent his son to rise up against father, [F] and brother to fight against [C] brother.
For he that is not with me [Bb] is against [C] me, was his teaching.
_ Said Jesus, I [F] am the answer.
_ _ [C] _ You unbelievers [F] shall burn forever, shall [C] die in your sins.
[F] Not sheep and goats, said [Bb] Judas, [F] but together [Bb] we [C] may [F] dare.
Shake off the chains [Bb] of tyranny [C] we share.
So stand up, stand up [F] for Judas, [Bb] and the cause [C] that Judas served.
It was Jesus [F] who betrayed the poor [C] with his word.
[F] Jesus stood upon the [Bb] mountain with a distance [F] in his eyes.
[C] I am the way, the life, [Fm] he cried the life, but never [C] dies.
So renounce all earthly treasures and [F] pray to your heavenly [C] father.
And he pacified the hopeless with the [F] hope of life [C] eternal.
_ Said Jesus, I [F] am the answer.
When [C] you hunger, only [F] remember your [C] reward's in heaven. _ _
[F] So Jesus [Eb] preached the other [F] world, but [Bb] Judas [C] wanted this.
[F] And he betrayed [Bb] his master [C] with a kiss.
So stand up, stand [F] up for Judas, [Bb] and the cause that [C] Judas served.

The bombs and rockets sank the vine that rained down death from heaven.
They followed Jesus, they [F] knew the answer.
All [C] unbelievers must [F] be believers, or else [C] be broken. _ _
[F] So place no trust in saviors, Judas said.
