[Bb] Tonight there are 55 [D],000 people out there who probably can't get last night off their [Gm] minds.
They're the ones who crowded into Football Park to see the wizardry of a man [G] called Mark Knopfler and his [B] band Dire Straits.
[D] This time around the Straits have been on tour [E] for 11 months, 10 months, starting in Israel.
Last night though it [G] was Adelaide's turn and [B] we had the only [Ab] cameras at the biggest concert this town has ever seen.
[G]
[Fm] [F] [Dm]
[Fm]
How [C] long have you been here?
Since 11 o'clock [B]
[C] last night.
[Bb] I'd [D] camp out a week.
[A] And a year for the Beatles.

[Bb]
Excuse me Mark, I wonder [Cm] if you're Adelaide fans at all?
[C] No.
[D] [Bb]
[C]
[D] And a crowd of young boys, [C] they're fooling [Bb] around in [A] the corner.
[Dm]
How long have you been [A] setting it up?
About three days.
[F] We can usually do it in one [Dm] day but because this is such a big production here, [A] a lot of stuff had [Dm] to be brought in specially.
[F] Specially for Adelaide?
Yeah, specially for Adelaide.
[Bb] Rock [Dm] and roll.
It's going to be [C] great fun now, [G] we've got a welcome dance going.
Fans that don't have a sense of humour don't survive.
So if you've got a sense of humour, time goes by really quickly.
What's my laugh on screen?
[Bb] [Cm]
Cresco.
[G] Yeah, we have, you get, there's ways of having fun, lots of ways.
[Dm] It's the longest time I've ever worked for [Ab] a band.
[D]
Bound to be.
[F] Sorry?
[D] [Gbm]
And anyway, [D] so I've got this new job after the break.
[Gm] Then why don't you tell me [A] if you're good to work for?
[B] [F]
[D]
I always do.
[G] I'm excited.
[A] I might not [G] look it but I am.
I think it's going to be good fun [Em] tonight.
I get a feeling, [G] just seeing the [Em] crowd coming in, they look happy.
[G] Are [Dm] we rolling?
We're rolling.
[D] Hello Alex.
Where do [F] you come from Alex?
Alex [Dm] Fragnito is our cameraman this evening.
You've [G] got a good management set up, then they can organise good tours for you, you go to the right places at the right time, it's organised properly.
You can do it.
And that's going to cost you.
[F] Hi Alex.
[Eb]
They ran into some problems [B] with the new album, guitar player Sal [E] had left.
[B] And I was sitting around doing nothing.
Basically I was working in a [Bbm] shop but I'd taken time off to work on my [E] music and Mark just rang up and asked me if I wanted to join the band.
It was that simple, [D] that easy.
I can remember doing this myself, [G] you see.
Coming into these big places, or [Em] into halls and [Dm] stuff, being at Monta, I don't know what it [D] feels like.
You get a tremendous sense of [G] expectation.
[Dm] When the band hits the stage and the lights come on, it's just like, [Em] it's tremendous.
Great, great.
You're there thinking [E] about the band, sitting backstage, [Em] sipping champagne?
Of course, yeah.
Just period, what was it more like?
[Eb] I always [G] feel a lot of the time when we're playing live that it's all so much better than anything that's on a record.
Yeah, [Gm] alright, I'll see you [D] all tonight.
