Superstar as the lead singer of the cranberries and during that time she topped the charts with hits like zombie dreams
and of course linger her worldwide appearances include a
Performance at the Vatican and a duet with Pavarotti and now she's just about to release her second album as a solo artist
But let's remind ourselves of one of the songs that made her a star all over the world

Regroup reform briefly recently what happened there?
Oh, yeah, it was like Trinity College and made me a member of their philosophical society.
Yes
I mean I was really chuffed and
The [Eb] society's been going on for hundreds of years like Yates is a member and all this so I was totally chuffed
I was you know [D] and
So I said to the lads like you know do you want to come up and play along because I said I do a couple
Of songs I'm not really the greatest with doing the whole time
[Eb] Holding the audience and making a big old spiel or doing a lecture or whatever
I was like you want to talk and I was like no I just saying I'm better at singing sure so yeah boys came up
But and had a string quartet and we just played a few [N] tunes
And it was really like you know playing with the gang again meeting up again
It was really weird like at first
I hadn't seen him for like four or five years and at first when I saw him
It was like initially it was like okay show me your cabin
So we're checking out each other's bellies and how big our bellies were and the gray hair
It's like how much gray hair of you know that but then after a few minutes
It's kind of like as if we saw each other yesterday
You [Db] know so and did it feel like a [Ab] gazillion years from the time you first met when you were forming the band?
I
Yeah, it actually does now because even when I see videos like linger and stuff like that
I look and I go I mean it that was like 18 19 years [E] ago
So how old were you then when you when you started the band roughly 18 you were 18?
Very young to be kind of getting stuck into it all
16 and no I mean like the eldest in the band
I was 18 the drummer was 18 and the other [D] two lads were 17 at 16
So we were really [E] young to know and it got big fast.
I think it was all pretty
It's very much overnight.
Yeah, and and it got quite you got global
I mean it wasn't just that you were playing wheeling to go home.
[N] I mean this was out and about yeah
It was really I was really global and kind of instant.
You know, but I'm was it scary
You know at the time we didn't have time to think about it
We were just like work work work work work and it was like fly here going to a hotel
You know live in a [Dm] hotel room just to press and and sing and you know makeup
Interview gig make a bit of a gig and it was just like that, you know
It wasn't actually [B] like I mean, you know initially like that was always my dream to kind of do you know
The rock and roll bands be a rock star and whatever and so it happened
But I think after a while I realized it wasn't much fun
I think after about six years of just living in [N] hotels do that for ages a kind of van.
I wanted something else in life
You know, so then I realized that I probably you know having kids and stuff like that
I changed things but when you were in the in the in the middle the eye of the storm is where and
Described that life of hotel rooms and press trips and you probably doing gigs and concerts and so on
[G] Did you I mean what did it become?
Did it get to the point where you were so well recognized that you were out with the the fake beard and glasses?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah
I remember actually when what I met my husband and he was working with Duran Duran and we were opening up for them and I
remember when I
Go on stage and we were the opening act like and after we finished I would go into the audience
we're waking all that and watched around around and I just loved like the idea of being in [F] the audience with this wig on and
And I used to go up to him there, you know the t-shirt stores
Where you're selling all the merchandise and stuff and I go up and I'd listen to all the fans talking [A] about the cranberries and I could
Just in the middle [Eb] of them.
They'd be going she was this and she was that and I'd be standing next to kind of good
Yeah, you know, but with the wig, you know that like nobody recognized you so it was grand like a little spy
Yeah, it was fun like to kind of just be in the middle of the crowd.
I hope they were saying nice things
Oh, yeah
[B]
When life after the cranberries you mentioned their motherhood you've how many kids we got now you've got well
For but I have a bonus child like my eldest child is my stepson
He's gonna be 18 this year and then I'm my first born will be 12 this year and they're all at home watching
Is that the monitor?
Well, it can be because I told Dakota's this one after this kids
Let's be good for it.
Anna.
Hello.
How old Dakota?
She's four [D] and then up after that.
She's the boss
She's the show.
Oh, totally
She runs the house, you know the way the babies [B] always run the house like and then Molly's age
She's making her first communion [Dbm] on the night the tailors [D] meeting is confirmation on the 29th
So my hands are full with all [F] that and then the album coming out, you know, so it's all a bit [B] mad
