Donnygold fiddlers to be exact.
[F] Well if you're short [G] of an audience why not go and find one?
No chance of stage fright in the middle of Aberdeen.
Street shock might be a more apt expression for those watching.
[G] [D]
[G] [F] [G]
[C#] It might not be your taste sir, surely it's not that bad.
[G]
They call it the water of life in the Emerald Isle, madam.
[F] In Union [E] Street on a Friday morning, maybe [C#m] not.
[G] [D#]
[F#] [E]
[G] [A] Anyone ready for a jig?
[F#] [B] [F#m]
[E] [A]
[B] [A] The Donnygold fiddlers were, believe it or not, heading for a [Am] lunchtime performance [G#] at the Aberdeen Art Gallery.
They're led by Dermot McLoughlin.
Do you always travel by that mode of transport?
[B] No, we don't normally.
[F] Sometimes we have hot air balloons and things like that, but [N] unfortunately we couldn't get one.
But the festival, they had [G#] this idea that we should come on a horse [A#] or on carriage.
It suited us [F] very well because it's a chance to play music [N] and meet the people on the street.
It's also great when they cause traffic jams.
It doesn't worry you that you cause all sorts of disruption in the street, does it?
At night it does.
You're lying in bed sometimes and you go, did we really do that?
But I think it's good because people can hear the music and all that and they can see what we're really like.
Are you the only Irish fiddle player with [D] a broken wrist?
Is there a joke in that?
No, it's true.
[C#]
I've got the evidence here.
I [N] was sunbathing in [C] County Donnygold in July.
You're [G#] joking.
No, it's true.
It's a day very similar to today.
I was lying on [C#] top of a wall asleep [N] and I turned over.
[D] I fell and I stuck out my [C] hand and I fractured my wrist.
But you could still play?
Well, it's taken a wee while to get it
