Start Jamming...
Well, we're gonna do it anyway.
We were out at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri back in August
And they invited us to be there and they wanted us to do an acapella song and we don't normally do
Acapella music just never have
Cause we don't like it
We don't like it
[N] It's true
We really don't like it
So we
He woke up after all that
Can you believe So we
We said well, you know, we don't know what to do
And I told the guys I don't like
Acapella songs and we just
Haven't done any and he said well I need you to do one for us
Tonight we're gonna [D] put you down
In the amphitheater called Echo Holla
And that place seats 4500 people
And [Gb] of course we were
Scared to death
[Db] Yeah we were
[N] We were real nervous about that
We've never done that place before
And so when we
Went down to do our sound check
We looked around and boy it was
[B] Just a beautiful place
But you're standing down here [E] in this
It really is a holla
You're down here [Eb] in this hole and there's people all the way across
In front of you
[N] And we were there that night with Karen Peck
Was with us I think
We were talking to Karen about it
She said oh it's gonna be fun
And she said I always do an acapella song here
And I said Karen they told me
I needed to do one and she said yeah just pick you one
Out it don't matter what you do just find one
And so I went to the bus
And I figured well you know we need to find
An old song that we can do
Pretty quick and everybody knows
So we told Tony to find us one
Cause he's the oldest one
In the [Eb] group so we figured he'd be
Pretty good at picking an old song
And he picked this one out
[Ab]
And we
Didn't know it no we didn't
But he said I'll teach it to you guys
[Bm] And so we worked on it for
I don't [Gb] know probably an hour I guess
And he taught us all the [Bb] parts and how it needed to go
And [Eb] we ran over it
Three or four times before we got off the bus
That's what it sounded like
We got off
[Ab] It [Eb]
[F] sounded like it for [N] sure
But we got down there
In the hall and they
You know it was time and they said guys come on sing
And it was 98 degrees
When we walked out on stage
And boy it was hot I'm telling you
And the people didn't clap
And I couldn't understand I thought maybe they didn't like us
But then I noticed
The problem was they'd given them fans
When they went in
Cause they want people to stay cool when it's that hot
And so they were waving
Their fans like this and they couldn't stop
To clap so they put it down
So what they'd do is do like this
And when we'd finish a song they'd point at it
And they'd start a fan with it
So it was the quietest
4500 people I believe I've ever heard
Well [F] we started singing
And we sang a while and [N] finally I told them
You know we're going to do this acapella song
Cause we got to
And Tony got tuned up on it we got ready to go
And I want you to know we start
Singing this song and they put their fans
Down and they started
Clapping and then we got
[Eb] Done and they started hooping and hollering
At us and I mean they had a time
So when we got on the bus
[Gb] Tony said I think we ought to do
A [A] acapella song more [C] often
I said well I still don't like them
[Ab] So I don't know we'll see
So we did this a few times
And [Eb] so we're going to try it tonight
You can do it tonight if you think
I don't even remember what key it was in Do you?
So we're going to try this acapella
Out tonight now we haven't [N] done this
In about a month a little over a month
So most of you
Don't like acapella anyway
So you'll do it
But the five of you who did we're going to do it for you
Where's that five at?
[Cm]
My buddy that saw it before
He likes it so we'll do it for you
This one's called
[Abm] Life's Railway to Heaven
[F] Y'all know that?
[Dbm] Boy it went down from [C] five to three
This is fixing to be [E] a train
[Ab]
One [Eb] two three
[F] Life is like
A mountain railroad
[Db] With an engine
And in its [F] train
We must stay For [Gb] unsuccessful
From the [N] cradle
To the grave
[Ab] Watch it curves
The hills and tunnels
[F] Never fall
And never [Eb] fade
[Ab] Keep your hand
Upon the throttle
And your eye
Upon the rails Blessed Savior
You're our guide us
Till we [Gb] reach
That crystal [Db] shore
Where the angels
Wait to join us
In our praise
[Eb]
Forever
[Eb]
[Ab] More
I [N]
know
[Dbm] I know
