[Eb] [Ab] [Bb] [Ab]
[Eb] I wish we all could [Bb] live at least until [Eb] we're 90
Without any aches or [Bb] pains or a [Eb] cloudy mind
[Ab] When I start recording, [Db] sometimes, and a lot of [Ab] times,
[Eb] when I start gathering songs, then they start connecting with each other,
and I start building on a theme.
Well, then I reached out to some writer friends.
It was Jerry Sally, for one.
He's a dear friend and a great writer.
But he [Ab] sent me a song called Life to My Days,
and what hooked me was I can't add more days to my [Eb] life,
so I'll add more life to my days.
And then I got to looking and thinking [Bb] about the other stuff I'm starting to gather in,
[Ab] and it came to me, and I said, Life is a [Bb] story.
[Ab] And it is.
Life is one big story [Bb] with a lot of chapters.
All [Ab] I can [Bb] say is I [Eb] can't add [Fm] more days to [Eb] my [Ab] life,
so [Eb] I'll add [Bb] more life to [Eb] my days.
A little more on the, not contemporary,
but more modern bluegrass approach, so to speak.
But it's a collection of 12 songs.
They all have a little story within their own,
because you know, life is one big story, [Ab] many different chapters.
Mine's got a lot of chapters.
[Bb]
Some of them are still writing.
[Ab] [Bb] laughs
[Eb] So if I'm one of those travelers whose journey gets cut short
[Ab] and leave the ones I leave behind, wishing I had more [Bb] time,
all I [Ab] can say [Bb]
is I [Eb] can't add [Fm] more days to [Eb] my [Ab]
life,
so [Eb] I'll add [Bb] more life to [Eb] my days.
