Start Jamming...
No, we don't.
[A] Yeah
[G] [A]
Little high
[D] [C] [D]
Little [G] fast down
[D] [E]
[A] Hello, [D] I'm my name is Robert Kane [E] and I'm the singer with Dr.
[F#] Feelgood and [A] we play
[D] British rhythm and blues
And the [G] reason I mentioned the word [E] British is because we play rhythm and blues with a bit of an [B] H
[A] [D]
[A] You
The band has [D] been going since the early 70s, but as with a lot of [Em] bands from that era people leave people join [F#] and
[G]
[F#] So the last original member [G] was Lee Brillo who was the
original singer [E] and
he he [A] died in the 90s and
[Am] And they got another singer in [C#m] and kept going but it didn't work out with him and then I
[Em] [D] Was recruited I got the job.
So I've been with it.
This is my 19th [E] year with the bar
[A]
[D]
I
[A]
[D]
[E]
[Em] [A] Wasn't [D] difficult to blend [F#m] in because [E] the previous [D] band that I was in was the animals
So I'd already [Em] been I'd already been in Eric burden [E] shoes
So I was [A] used to the [E] idea that I was [F#] stepping into someone else's shoes.
So
stepping into Lee Brillo [F#m] shoes
[E] Wasn't wasn't a problem
the important thing is
[A]
Don't copy them.
Don't try [E] to be Eric burden.
Don't try to be Lee Brillo
[A] Do what you do as yourself, but in the spirit of the band that you're joining
be [F#] yourself [C#] the [A]
[F#] [A]
first [C#] music you hear are the records that your [G] parents have in [A] the house and
[F#] my my parents were born in the 20s and 30s, so
It was things like Bing Crosby and
Al Jolson that I first heard yeah
[Am]
and I
Already [D]
even as a small child knew that I wanted to [G] perform.
[D]
[B] I
Don't know.
It was just there.
It was just there
[Cm]
yeah, [E] and
Then the Beatles came along and I heard twist and shout
[D] which [A] is
[D]
Rhythm and blues.
[G#] It's an Isley Brothers number, [D] you know and
[Am]
That changed my life and you all wanted to perform and I thought at eight years old
[D] that's what I want to do [B] I want to be able to do [D] that and
so [E] if you can
[F#] It altered the course of my [G] life here in that record that [E] one record and of course [A] if you if you listen
[E] To a band like the Beatles and the other bands that were around at the time it storms the animals the
[D#] The all [A] based their music on American rhythm and blues and rock and roll
So you investigate you find Chuck Berry you find a little [G] Richard you find facts domino Carl [Em] Perkins
Paul diddly [E] yeah and
That now that takes you back [D] into the blue that takes him in muddy [A] waters
And John Lee Hooper and Howlin Wolf and then that takes you further back to
Robert Johnson and blind William Mattel and people like that
So it's it's it's a learning process [E] and you absorb all this all you know
Every time every time you hear a new record, that's something else that you that you are
[Am]
[E]
[Am] I
Will do you
[A] If
[G] [G]
[A] [G] [Em]
[F#m] [E]
you're on stage
[A]
what you want to get across is
[D] Joy you want people [A] to enjoy themselves
You want to go you want people to walk away thinking yes, I had a [E] good
[A]
[F#] [D]
