_ _ _ [E] _ _ [Dm] _ I remember _ _ _ _ seeing the ads in the back of I don't know what magazine, but I was aware
of Carbon around _ 1960. _
I used _ the vintage amps _ and had some really good luck with them.
I didn't pursue the guitars, but I tried out the vintage amps [N] and really liked them.
I have not blown a Carbon amp up yet, and I've tried.
_ _ I haven't even blown a speaker yet, _ which is pretty rare.
_ And I got some home recording equipment too, some boards and stuff from Carbon and one
of the tube mics. _ _
I was really surprised.
Really good stuff, you know? _ _ _ _
And also, you know, Frank Zappa was a good friend, and he always told me about Carbon.
Carbon, Carbon, Carbon.
Calm it, calm it.
They're great people.
_ I'll just tell you about this guitar.
I decided to get a _ custom guitar. _
_ And I _ looked through the catalog and picked out woods and picked out pickups and the bridge and everything. _
And I got this guitar, and I absolutely [A] love it.
_ _ _ [D] _ _ [A] _ _
[D] _ _ _ _ _ [A] _ _ _
_ The weight, _ _ it's light.
[Em] The feel, the wood, _ _ _ it's got great sustain. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
That bridge is right down on the body.
_ _ _ _ _ And in so many guitars, _ _ the bridge is up on the posts, _ up, you know, _ far.
And I don't like that because it bends, it can go out of tune. _
This is like an old Les Paul, _ where the bridge is right on the body.
_ _ And I can't get anybody to do that.
_ _ I can't get even Gibson to do that.
_ _ This is like the old Les Pauls, you know?
And it's just, I can get way up here, I can get way up high. _ _ _ _
And the scale is such, I have huge hands, _ _ _ I can't play mandolin, _ _ _ my hands are too big.
_ [A] And I can [C#] play way up high _ _ _ _ and clean. _
_ _ _ _ _ [C] _ _ _
_ [A#] _ _ _ _ _ [Em] _ _
_ _ [D] _ [G] I've _ _ _ _ _ _ _ had a couple guitars made _ by other companies.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
And it's kind of, you gotta wait and see.
You gotta kind of wait and see.
And it might be what you wanted, it might not. _ _ _ _
But I mean, down to the finest detail with Karvin,
_ I was able to have a say in how it was set up and the action. _
And I'm just thrilled with this.
And I don't know anywhere else you can get _ an American-made, _ _ _ _ solid, great
hardware, great pickups, guitar, _ _ _ _ _ _ and be _ involved in designing it.
I don't know anywhere else, _ _ _ including all the major companies,
where you can get that kind of _ _ _ feedback and involvement from the company.

[Am] [Dm] That's all I've [F#m] been playing.
Yeah, I was just in the studio today working on Eagle Songs.
And this is what I played.
And I got a great sound with it.
Much to my amazement.
_ _ I don't know why I didn't do this _ a _ long time ago.
I'm going to take this out on the Eagles tour.
We're going to _ Australia and _ Japan and Hong Kong and Bangkok
and Singapore and South Korea. _ _ _ _
A lot of places I've never been.
But _ I'm [E] just thrilled with this.
_ You know, it's finite little things. _ _ _
I can show you a couple things here. _ _
_ _ _ _ This space between the high E string and the edge of the fret is critical. _ _
_ _ _ _ And on a lot of guitars, _ _ _ _ _ the string will _ _ _ be off-centered. _ _
_ _ _ On this guitar, it's exactly perfect all the way up.
Same with the E.
It's exactly perfect all the way up.
One thing I can't stand about pickups is when the pickup is off to one side
and the string isn't over the pole.
_ You know? _
And on _ so _ many guitars, it's just not lined up right. _
And _ that's critical for sustain for me.
_ I might be _ _ superstitious, but a string's got to be right on the pole. _ _ _ _
And this is perfect.
_ This is aligned just perfect _ _ all the way up.
_ _ And it's that kind of care, _ _ that kind of care, that kind of _ _ _ awareness _
_ _ that I don't find in other companies.
I don't know anywhere else _ where you can get a guitar made that
is the quality _ _ that Carbon has. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
