[A] [B]
Now that little riff in there.
I'm actually not going to teach you today, but next week
I'll be teaching you the E minor pentatonic
So what you can do is you know learn this 12 bar blues and these open chords and you can [G] play with a friend you learn
The skill next week you guys can jam and that is the that is the best part of music [B] the jammage, okay?
All right, so real quick this guitar
Big [G] dudes they use the shop in Kansas City a great shop
Locally owned great guys have done with this guitar and they sponsored this video links below if you're looking for a [Em] ukulele or guitar
Couldn't buy one for better [B] guys
Okay, 10thumbspro.com learn for free new guitar lessons every Monday, but if you came just for this lesson
That's cool.
I dig it and I respect [E] it all right [B] grab that [C] guitar grab that brain
Grab that attention span follow me on in [B] and let's learn how to strum through these blues
[G] Hey, what's up everybody Tyler from 10thumbspro.com
All right a [E] strummer 12 bar blues in the key of E.
I want you to learn this one [B] because next week
I'm going to teach you the E scale
[Em] Let's be more accurate [Bm] the E minor scale
Now with the E minor pentatonic scale and this 12 bar blues you and another friend that are learning guitar can rock [E] out and jam together
As well, okay, all right, [Bm] so what we're going to need we're going to need an [E] E7
Just like our E major, but with no ring finger
[Bm] We're gonna need an A7 you can play [A] both this way and [Bm] [A] this way I
Oftentimes play [B] both maybe I'll do this [A] A7 first
And the other [Em] one after
[B] It's a matter of preference all right.
There's some noodling room, but the blues is free [Am] to interpretation
That's why [B] it's so cool, and then the last one is a B7
[A]
[B] You playing maybe Johnny Cash in the key of E
[C#] [B] And you've already seen this chord if you haven't it might be your first chord where you need four fingers
It might be a little tricky
But it's a must know [E] because the key of E is so popular on the guitar [C#] and you will see this one
Oh great.
Oh great.
[E] Oh, Rick a key to help you kind of get around that is a pivot [B] finger in your
Middle finger on the second fret of the a string is in the same place for the E major and the [E] B7
So I was practice switching back and forth from us all right, so it's 12 bar blues because it's 12 bars
One two [B] three four one two three four when you count four
All four beats and four four would be one bar or one measure.
That's why we hear 16 bars and hip-hop
It's really 16 measures of music the [D] first we're gonna brush down [E] pattern which means down
All right, [B] we're gonna do that over the [G] E7 chord we're gonna play that [E] four times
[C#] Actually let me go ahead and count it with you so you can [E] feel where the bar starts and stops [E] one two three
Four
[B] and
That is actually believe it or not
33% a third of this song so technically not 33% 33 .33333
Infinite threes you know the little line over
all [E] right, so
[D] After that we're gonna go [Em] to a seven
Let's play this a seven shape for now, and we're gonna do [A] five and six bars five and six five
six and then back [E] seven and
eight
Okay, the [B] end nine to be seven
[A] Ten is a seven
[Bm] [E] Eleven is he seven [B] and twelve is visa so the turnaround goes
Goes nine
[Em] [E]
Eleven [B] twelve
Okay, so let's take that from the top and run through your very first row bar strummer blues, okay, one two three [E] four one
three
four
[C#m]
one [Em] two
[E]
[B] One
[Em] [E]
[B] [E] All right now there's a lot [B] of cool things that you can do with this
[G] Why is it important though [B] because it sounds great with [D#] the e minor pentatonic?
And [B] it
[E]
[Em] [B]
[E] [Em]
[E]
sounds awesome with some cool turnarounds at the very [B] end the turnaround be that be a
[A] BB part there's other [B] ways you can do that you can do something like this
[Em]
[B]
[E] [B]
[Em]
Okay, so [Am] that's all where you can go with this, but the first thing is to get that [B] under your fingers
Okay, happy to bring that when you to you love this love the blues love the blues all right
Just love them real quick
